I know it has only been three weeks but looks like the Pendulum maybe swinging back to the other side of the bay once again. These last two games by the 49er's look like the previous ten years of the Raiders

MONDAY Smooth, easy shave this relaxed Monday morning (my day off!) using my one & only J-West razor. Lightweight, easy-to-manuever, and has an extremely keen edge. Near-BBS results, ending with a burn/chill 'Snake Bite' finish. Have a great Monday, all!
You can see how much of my Speick stick is left here. I'm giving it two more days until it's too hard to hold onto and it goes in a tub with something else
September 28 Gillette New LC Feather blade (1) Kent BK4 silvertip brush Trumper's Coconut shave cream and glycerin Three passes Thayer's Lavender witch hazel, unrefined shea butter, and Trumper's Coral Skin Food I celebrate my one-year anniversary on The Shave Den today. I took note of the friendly and welcoming atmosphere here right from the start. It has been every enjoyable. I've learned a lot, and I'm blessed by all the wonderful folks I've met here...even especially Rich. I loaded a Feather blade in the New and decided to go for a three-pass shave this morning. I sneak a three-passer in every so often, and it was great! The Gun-Kote on my razor makes it easy to clean between shaves. Some users report that the top cap, once recoated, glides more easily across the skin, but I haven't noticed a significant difference yet with mine. I read some great reviews on the Captain's Choice Bay Rum over the weekend and decided to purchase a bottle. I have never used Bay Rum, so I thought it would be nice to try. Next up will be the Fine L’Orange Noir aftershave. I understand that it was inspired by a Terre d’Hermès scent, of which I'm a big fan. Enjoy your day!
Monday Bulldog Men Sensitive face wash 2014 Weber SS PH w/Bulldog handle razor Rapira Swedish Super Steel (4) blade Bestshave #6 brush RazoRock P.160 shave soap 3 passes WTG/XTG/ATG + touch-up. Homemade mentholated after shave splash P.160 ... I understand the hype now! This was only the first shave with it, but oh boy! The smell, the cushion, the glide.. Everything is A++ with this soap. Stellar BBS!
My initial impression of the scent is positive. I will use it this whole week to allow me to respond with more informed knowledge.
Back again recording my SOTD after several months! Coming back on probably a terrible note... Gillette Fusion Proglide with "Flexball Technology"! Enjoy
SHAVE OF THE DAY: MENTHOL MONDAY RAZOR: MAGGARD MR18C BLADE: RAPIRA PLATINUM LUX BRUSH: EVERREADY 600 SOAP: STIRLING GLACIAL LEMON CHILL/ PPF OAKMOSS & SAGE POST: DR. JON'S HYDRA A/S Ouch!!! So much menthol I feel I need to stick my head in the oven (pre heat for 20 min at 420 degrees!). Decided to try and mix 2 soaps so the glacial would tone down a bit. It worked a little bit, which is good because the last time I used the glacial soap my eyes were watering so bad I could barely see what I was doing. The Dr. Jon's Hydra aftershave went well with the Stirling Lemon Chill and has a strong burn to it, but has a nice lemon citrus scent. The shave came out BBS with no stubble at all, but I did get some intense burn from the A/S, so I will have to stop chasing it. Hope everyone has a great shave and a great day!!

Thanks, Paul. I favor warm, incandescent tones for my photos. Invariably the lower left corner is indeed 'leather' or sometimes horsehide as that is where I normal place the strop used that day.
The Crazy Ivan in SEptember! September 28 Razor - Gillette '59 Ball End Tech Blade - (3) Brush - BoS Omega 10066 Soap - Mitchell's Wool Fat Post - Cold Water, Alum, Clubman Final day with the Thai Gillette. BoSFat for the win on the lather and another very nice three pass shave. Finished with a near BBS after a little extra touch up work. Like the Vietnamese Super thin this one seems to be losing its edge a bit on the third shave. Clearly not the best blade from Gillette but very workable and a better option than many other blades. Speaking of many other blades tomorrow I'll be switching to the Tiger 3H from Czech Blades. This is a carbon blade and is an "old school" carbon because of the design. It has the old style rounded ends with three holes punched in it. Hearkens back tot he design of the old Gillette Blues. I'll give it two days and not try a third since it is carbon and I don't know what to expect. Should be interesting. Hopefully not deadly or dull. Or deadly dull. Or any of that. I'm set up for October. More coming.
