I didn't have any other razor it would fit in. I have used everything else in that razor no problem. Only thing I can use volshok and feather blades in without needing transfusions.

It's not letting me edit but I misspelled voskhod.

True, it's a fine post. Let's not forget this one though, it was pretty awesome too:

Actually, there have been a lot of great posts this month. Looking forward to more great shavings and shenanigans in OCtober!

Are you kidding? That den is aces!
The only place you see that much stainless/chrome/shiny surfaces is @Darkbulb's shave den or the ride for all our two-wheeled aficionados on this site...
( you know who you are.) ;)

Glad to hear you at least landed safely! Enjoy your trip!

The three hole configuration does limit it to only certain razors for sure. The DE 89 is a three poster and so is my Merkur 23c. The Remei and Long Feng too. And of course the 1918. So those are my choices.

It's ok, I can spot Voskhod no matter how you butcher the name. ;)

    For general consumption:

Congrats to all on a smashing success in September! October promises to be another great month of focus and shenaniganisms, and I will be completely rewriting the intro and posting the new thread soonish...our participation and page views are off the charts, that means people know a good thing when they see it. Kudos to all who gather here! I will be traveling 2 October through 10 October, but will be able to check in nightly.

All of you have really contributed and made this bigger and better than I thought was ever possible! Big thanks to moderator Kerry (@RaZorBurn123 ) for sticking us to the top of the page and featuring us in the General section! So, let's get our plans together and give them another big month of the internet's only unhijackable thread!

    Day 28 - SEptember 2015

    30 Days with a Schick G

Stuck with the same kit as yesterday so I could claim a Menthol Monday bonus. Winding down a great month of shaves, a bit of a learning curve, but excellent performance, and today was no exception. I really like the ISZ products, and always come back to them. Starting to feel like fall on the prairie, and thankfully the Blood Moon wasn't actually the end of the world. Other than that...all is quiet in Colorado.

    Have a terrific Tuesday!

The tiger blade was scary. Like Alexi after his 2nd case of vodka trying to juggle knives.
On a brighter note. I just broke my focus. I don't believe that I will get much better shaving with SE razors. My problem with the gem is blade choice and I'll play with that next month some. I'll also figure out the type B OC and type C SB schicks and try them. The Schick G is flawless. Automatic every time. I'll try the personna blade in it but I don't see switching unless it's amazing. Tonight I used a ball end Stahly. It was the Stahly head loaded with an Astra SP on a ballend tech handle. I used my regular semogue boar and attempted a super lather with arko and Palmolive. It exploded with soft slick mountains of lather. The Palmolive killed the arko smell. I managed to get a 95% BBS only missing it at the corners of my jaw. I expectedly nearly skinned myself. The month of SE didn't work in my favor. I soothed it with Nivea sensitive balm and then punished myself for the skinning with the fires of clubman. The Stahly is a great RAZOR head but I gave it to my fiance to use so I will not have it for myself very often.
True love is giving up what might become your favorite razor.

I've been under the weather a tad this past weekend and today. Good news is it gave me time to sit back (watch some football) and reflect on the past month of shaves.

    Here's my SEptember Recap.
Razors I've used for the first time this month:

    Injectors
    Schicks (C1, C3, E2, G, I2, J3) and PAL Adjustable injector.

    Other SE
    Gems (1912, Bullet, Clog-Pruf, G-Bar, Featherweight, Pushbutton)
    Everready 1924 “Shovelhead"

A month of all pluses and nary a minus or two.

Both a plus and minus was the fact that I shaved with 15 razors this month - great for all the exposure ;) to razors I’ve never used before, but nearly impossible to do a legitimate assessment beyond first impressions. I have no idea how Crazy Ivan does it @NCoxSTL

On the plus side, it opened up a whole new world of possibilities for me regarding razor choice - it’s clear that I will not become strictly a DE user. Most all shaves this month were good to excellent. I experienced just one poor shave (that I will totally take responsibility for due to operator error). In fact, many of the SEs this month provided as good or better shaves than what I’ve experienced so far with DEs. Though I still have yet to try the Gillette OCs and non-adjustable TTOs.

The best part of SEptember was that it provided me an opportunity to narrow down the field of razors that I will consider spending more time with - all while I got a month of great shaves!

So those that I hope to schedule more time with will be the Schicks E2 and I2, PAL Adjustable, Gem 1912 and EverReady1924. How soon, I do not know.

Considering I have 3 Gillettes (Tech, Fatboy and Slim) that I can already use in a rotation, plus 4 OCs and 4 other razor types that I have yet to try - I can see it may take awhile to get to know them all very well.

However, I will soon make a dedicated effort to give solid focus to my Schick C1 Repeater, which I hope to make my travel razor for my frequent business trips which begin again in earnest come January.

Thanks to all who have followed along with my posts this month, but most of all to so many of you who comment, give advice and help me out and laugh along the way. I couldn’t have done these first 5 months without TSD, it's Denizens and this thread!

I've had a great time following your progress over the last 5 months as well as the hi jinks. I think it's a testament to the effort you put in on your technique in the beginning that allowed you to rotate through so many different razors successfully this month. Looking forward to your take on OC razors next month.

Vince, I hope you are feeling better. I enjoyed following your SEptember focus. You covered a lot of ground, for sure. Great summary!
