LOL! It's funny because that was sort of the tone I was going for at some points.

Alright then, 4th shave with same quattro cartridge today. Great shave and the blades still feel very sharp. I have to keep pressure in check or else it feels like I am running four feather blades on my skin.

About to shave with the "double pivot" Proglide again. I love this thing. I feel like such a sell out.

The Quattro Titanium is a great razor. The vertical lines help, I think.

The Quattro's were in the bargain bin in my local supermarket with none on the shelves - so not a promotion...

Oh no, are you saying that Schick is considering to discontinue the production of these beauties as well?

Another thing that is quite a concern for me is that schick is no longer under the umbrella of energizer holdings but edgewell. Will that affect the imports here in Pakistan, only time will tell.

Energizer Europe (Edgewell) aka Wilkinson Sword has withdrawn products in specific countries before, so it doesn't mean it is being discontinued. Xtreme3, Ptotector 3 and Ultra's are still available in certain markets, just not in the UK.

Quite disapointing isn't it? Schick hooks you to a certain razor and then stops its supply :(. This is one of the main reasons why I like Gillette more.

I saw the xtreme 3 razor yesterday. Didn't seem like a good razor and the blades were made in china.

I seen the Xtreme 3 yesterday at Dollar General. I've always seen the disposable version, but this is the first of the cartridge I've seen. It looked kinda wonky.

Any idea how many shaves you get on a single cartridge?

Sorry for such a late response @Dzia Dzia . I am sorry (or happy if it's a good thing) to hear about the knee replacement. I hope you have a rapid, relatively pain free, recovery and are up and "at em' " again very soon. My sister just had her 2nd knee replacement. We are pulling for you buddy!

Well, this is the first Proglide cart I've used in a long time. I can't remember my history of longevity with it. I will keep you posted here, it's still going strong 3 days in.

Let's see if you break my record of 15 shaves per cartridge ;)

15? My God. Does the lube (lol) strip last those 15 shaves??

Lube strip is nothing but a sponge :) . After 15 shaves, the lubestrip still keeps half of its color but I still throw the cart away. Following are the main factors that contribute in its longevity
    • I apply oil after each shave on lubestrip and blades. It helps it keep its color.
    • Shaving foam mixed with some gel (as my lather) keeps lubestrip from coming off
    • I need only 8 strokes with the 5 blade section and 12 strokes with precision trimmer for a complete shave. Lesser the number of strokes longer the life of blades.

Interesting about the oil. I may look into it.

I've never kept a blade (cart or DE) for more than 7 days. Normally after a week it goes to the trash.

The original Sensor Excel has been replaced by a Blue 3 system re-branded as a Sensor Excel in the UK, it appeared to be a twin rather than triple blade - I didn't look too closely. The Sensor Excel has only been available in two separate store chains.
