with today and tomorrow left for SEptember I think I know what I'll be doing. I did just get 2 new injectors! today the B type OC and tomorrow the C type safety bar. updates laterish.
I posted some somewhere. I think I have them on my tablet let me see. . . the first one is uncleaned the wy they came in the post. the seccond was today after I figured out how to disassemble the B right after my first cleaning.
Isn't that design a joy to behold.....Col. Schick was like the John M Browning of the Shaving World....
Its amazing now.less amazing when I was prying the pieces apart because they were glued together with something red and sticky.
Yeah, I used to love the Mr John M Browning Hi Power Auto...Nice piece of Bad Guy Busting Iron Sir....:bang: Billy...
Schick A Type Repeater.. Another shot... Another... Next to my B Type... My Schick A Type Repeater arrived in the post today from France...You never know what you are getting until it ends up in the hand so to speak...Well...What a lovely surprize as its fair to say that this thing is in Pristine Condition....The photos don't do this razor any justice...The A Type is a an early Alloy Metal Industrial piece of Art from the 1920s...There was nothing like this coming out of Britain at this time...I have got to laugh when folks knock Schick's as some sort of Non traditional SE...Well you don't get anymore Traditional than these American Wonders of Engineering Folks... Billy...
That, sir, is a beauty - I'm guessing it'll be next up in your rotation. Looking forward to hearing how it shaves.
Thanks for the Warning, just a bit late, huh? That would be blatant false advertising IMO. Did you contest the purchase???? I will if that happens to me. @Billyfergie recommended this seller, so I'm hoping for the best.
You should be fine Sir...There has been plenty of folks that have purchased these....The advertisement for the Twin blades & Single blades is almost identical and its easy to mix them up and press the button for single blades.... Billy...
Browning Hi-Power is still state of the Art.....and I believe the good Col. was inspired by the 1911 Colt 45 Auto which like this A type, is still as practical and effective as they were when they were designed, and downright artistic....I have always said that I thought the good Col. Schick was so far ahead of his time that no one has caught up yet....Wishing you much success with this tool of whisker distruction.... And might I add that these razors are a lovely addition to our Razor Porn Collection Sir...Bully and Whoot! I love it! And looking forward to a stroke by stroke account of your first time out with this lovely Masterpiece of Functional Art!
OMG - that A Type is nearly 100 years old and looks like it just came off the assembly line today. what a beauty! and what's best? - it's gone to a shaver, not a collector...though I consider you to be both - a collector that uses his collection - and appreciates them. you deserve it Billy, enjoy!
Ain't she a looker though....Her beauty seemed to improve with age..... You're so right Ru.....I love to see these precious gems being used and appreciated....Heck....I love using and appreciating my classic razors myself.....ha,ha! Got one fantastic 2 pass shave with this ones baby sibling, my Schick C3 today myself....Thanks again Ru....
Thanks for the kind words folks....Just thought I would mention that for anybody staying in the USA or the EU for that matter....I got the A & B Type & some lovely Lather Catchers from French & German EBay....That is to say going into French & German EBay in their own language & not using the English Version....I use google translation to search in their native language and to communicate with them....If you use the English version a lot of items don't come up because a ;lot of them don't advertise International Postage....I just sent them a massage & they have always been willing to send them abroad... Its a bit of a pain but every now and then a Gem does turn up like the A Type....Most folks don't go to that bother... Billy...
