1. Beautiful! Now I must go look for a Rolls...

  2. These Rolls Razors scare the crap out of me. It looks like it would tear my face off lol. I guess a lot of people say that about DE and straight razors as well, so I would imagine with practice it would work out great.

  3. Hahahaha good one =P I want to put it into the mug, but I dont want the scent to disappear!

  4. Not too exciting maybe, and not even a shaving soap, but probably the best smelling hand/bath soap I've ever bought.

  5. mine shaves pretty well. it was all the cleanup and re-maintenance that kept me from reaching for it more. I've hit a busy spell, with less time for this hobby. but I enjoyed it for a couple shaves before I cleaned it up and put it away for a while. more work than a straight.
do they or did they ever make a handle to hold onto a rolls blade, insofaras I could use my own finishing stones and strop?

  6. Im not sure. I don't really know much about them, I got a chance to see one in the travel box but it looked strange plus I don't know how to use it. I thought I saw a stone that it came with to sharpen but im not positive.
  7. Got my Black Beauty and Slim today. The Slim is still in the dishwasher so I cleaned and oiled the 1970 BB, which I was really after. Cleaned up nicer than I was hoping. Have decided I prefer it (slightly) to its taller sibling so it'll be a regular.

  8. You did see one. That was the spare Rolls that I put in the box, in the hopes someone could replace the broken saddle spring (that's all that's wrong with it).

  9. Oh ok. That thing made me think of a cheese slicer when I first say it. Have you used one before?
  10. The Rolls? It'd be my desert island razor, if I had to pick. No DE or SE shaves as closely, and maintaining the blade head really isn't a big deal at all. As long as the springs are intact (they usually are), the stone and strop is good (they usually are too), it's really -- I hate to say this -- the only safety razor a guy needs. I lucked out and found an unused set a few years ago, and it's the one I have now.

  11. That's good to hear you like it. I like how it has a stone and strop so there would be no replacing the blade, like a mini straight razor.
  12. It is called the Straight on a Stick for a reason.

  15. Lot of buzz about Dr Jon soaps lately. Have you had a chance to try it out yet?

  16. That really works nice. If this could be color printed to size and cut circular, it'd make a nice label to replace the Proraso one...

  17. Just got it. I'll use it tomorrow morning. It does smell great! I did put a dab on my finger tips and it's very silky. I'm so late to Dr. Jon's I almost feel like a newbie.

  18. I have the Dr Jon's Arctic Hydra. It a citrus/lemon scent with a touch of menthol. Very nice, easy lathering cream. A lot softer than I expected but you don't need alot of it to get a good lather. I'd buy it again.

Definitely curious about scent profile and your opinion on the lather.

  20. Just took a look at my new Slim. Date code H1, the earliest I've had...is this a first year run or 2nd?
