I had planned to raise the Fat Boy to 6 today, but at the last minute I decided to leave it at 5 in order to get a little more feedback on whether or not I needed to change the setting. Tomorrow I will try it on 6.

First time using Dr. Jon's Aphrodite, why did I wait so long to try Dr. Jon's?! Fantastic quality, scent, everything about this soap is on point. The Aristocrat is becoming a real favorite of mine, I can't seem to put it down. F&C Black Powder is a nice way to finish this shave.

I tried Rise and the Bay Rum together once before..it appeared that one fragrance cancelled out the other, so I had NOTHING. If it doesn't work this time, now that the air is cooler, drier....I'll have to use Barbasol with the BR(which I've done before, and which allows for the BR fragrance).

LASS Woody Lavender today. 20 seconds to load the ER Silvertip. Easy, thick, slick, lather. Gillette Platinum in the Fat Boy. Great smooth, close, shave. I finished with Chiseled Face Sherlock.

Thanks. Doug Korn did a great job with the brush and the Super Silvertip is velvety soft and has not been broken in yet with just 7 shaves on it. I really, really like the Shave Tonic. You definitely pickup the Bourbon Vanilla then the Bay Rum settles in which you pick up orange, cinnamon, and the spices. I went out to their website when I first ordered it two years ago for Christmas (bottle broke Christmas Eve so never got a chance to try it and had to wait two years before I was lucky enough to snag three before being sold out again) but I noticed Derby City uses the same ingredients in their Bay Rum formula that I did when I made my own batch three years ago. Possibly biased based on this but either case, great stuff. Since it took me two years to obtain replacement bottles, this time I ordered three so I wont run out for some time.

I really like the LC, it's milder than the SC, which I like. Loaded a Feather blade, and checked the alignment. Whipped up some TH 10 in the OS Mug, with the Silvertip. Very nice two pass shave with some touchup on my trouble spot on my neck. Warm water rinse and pat dry. Some WH and after cleanup some JB balm. Finished up with some Old Spice original Shulton 1980 AS. Ahhhh! Gotta love the Spice! Y'all have a good one! Oh, a Cold Front came in last night it's in the 70s! Brrrrrr.......

Final day for the King. My plan is to use each blade three shaves this month. I normally switch blades after three shaves so if they will make that distance I consider them to have passed my test. While I occasionally go past three on a blade its only with certain ones. The Horse and TSD Lanolin Bay Rum today. So basically.....I have a Bay Horse, with Rum and Fat. Or a Rummy fat bay horse. Oh stop groaning, it's me, what did you expect?

On to the shave. Great easy lather and I'm definitely going to be buying more TSD Lanolin. Awesome soap. Grabbed the 1918 and went to work and found the blade just a bit tuggy. Not horrible and still usable but it's good that I was planning on this being its last day. I can tell it's not going to make four. No cuts/nicks or other problems so that's all good. SWMBO came in while I was getting ready to finish the neck and watched me slide the neck. She had never seen the Gillette Slide and wasn't convinced it was a good idea. Seems like she is worried I have a desire to shred my neck. Nope, just want that two pass finish today and I got it. DFS and ready to roll. Final full weekend off as I hit the streets running on Tuesday following final testing on Monday. Hope you have a great weekend!

 

4th day of L'Occitane Cade. Used some m-bomb in it and wow what a great combo they make. Chose to pair it up with some French aftershave sort of...Gillette Cool Wave which technically is made in France...apparently. I don't have any French razors so I went with my favorite straight at the moment. A Genco Pyramid 6/8".

Tabacstag on Homecoming
We are going to the homecoming game at my alma matter, MSU today! This was an excellent shave this morning. Optimal lather and a smooth and easy shave with the Futur and Personna lab blue. I think Voskhod is better so far, but this is only one shave.
