1. I really like the following Fine American Blend, PAA Clubguy, and my recently purchased PAA Vloid.

Are there some others you guys can recommend that are along those lines?

  2. PAA CaD...classic barbershop scent.

Are you looking for alcohol based?
Is staying power important to you?

  3. It sounds like PAA did spin-off scents from Pinaud Clubman and Floid Amber. Why not try the originals?
  4. Vintage Aqua Velva
Vintage Old Spice (Original, Lime, Burley)
    Of course....The Veg.

  5. I happen to like alcohol based. Doesn't have to stay all day but a few hours of bliss would be great :)
  6. I do have Pinaud Clubman but haven't tried the original Floid Amber. I really do like the Vloid so I will probably grab a bottle of Floid to try out. Thanks
  7. You would probably like the Indian version Lime old spice as well. eBay has them for about $10 for 150ml. Search for Shulton Old Spice 100 ml (or 150ml).

If you don't mind paying quite a bit more, Ralph Lauren Safari for Men is a very upscale barbershop scent. Longevity is only a couple hours (on me). Lasts for days on clothing. :)

  9. WSP - Wet Shaving Products has a Barbershop scent aftershave, I like it in their soaps. Also one called Barbacool that has menthol.
    Good stuff.
I also run the Fine American Blend frequentand Pinaud Clubman. And Captains Choice Sandalwood. That is the only one of the captains that can stand, and o like that one a lot.

I also have a custom mix of Bay Rum in bottles that is awesome. Other than this mix I found I do not like any Bay Rum ... Go figure.

  10. While I haven't used Barbacool and Capt. Choice Sandalwood, I'm interested in giving both a try.
  11. Thanks for all the suggestions guys going to check them all out.
  12. Booster June Clover
    Booster Oakmoss
    Floid Blue
    Pinaud Clubman, Lilac Vegetal,...

  13. The whole Clubman line....Special Reserve is a great Leather olde style and Classic Vanilla is a real compliment getter..
I've seen Masters Topaz getting rave reviews...

  14. I think it really depends on what your definition of barbershop scent is because I've found people's ideas of this are WILDLY different. To me Tabac and floid are both great shop scents. Ive tried Stirling barbershop and to me it smells like cotton candy. Way too sweet.
  15. I agree with your assessment! Somehow; I don't know why..."I don't Know; Really I don't;"(Talulah Bankhead?) I'm becoming addicted to Gillette's "CoolWave After Shave Splash?" And, it's cheap! (No, I'm not a member of the Gillette Family! But, the very thought of it..., NAH! I'm good, here!) hah, hah..hah! :happy102:

  16. I'm going to say Clubman (the regular stuff). That's what my barber has and it is the scent that to me is "classic"

  17. Clubman, as many have stated. Original, Special Reserve or Bay Rum.

Also try English Leather...maybe even Stetson to some degree.

  18. I would add Canoe to the mix listed so far.

  19. Question for you, as you're good with scents. I've long heard good things about the Indian Lime OS but have never obtained any. However, I did just dose my 1990s bottle of Shulton "Limited Edition" OS (a slightly smoother and subtler/refined version) with lime essential oil. I like it a lot but am curious if the Indian version would differ significantly enough from my mix to track some down, in your opinion?
  20. Fine Accouterments American Blend is one of the best Barbershop scents ever
