October 5 Gillette New LC in Gun-Kote Bronze by Delta Echo Razor Works Feather blade (2) Kent BK4 silvertip brush Arko and glycerin Two passes Thayer's Lavender witch hazel, unrefined shea butter, and Trumper's Coral Skin Food I enjoyed a near-BBS shave this morning. Arko provided a creamy, slick, and very protective lather. Enjoy your day.
The Glacial Obsidian balm is definitely colder than Osage and the Arctique aftershave is colder than both of them put together. I never experienced menthol like that in my entire life.
MONDAY Smooth shave this morning…nothing fancy—just quality soap and sweet shaver! Have a great Monday, all!
Razor: Gillette Goodwill #164 1931 (slotted center hole) with original case and blade pack Brush: Jerusalem Olive Wood/WD Silvertip 24/48 Mug: Old Spice 1985 Cobalt Blue Cream: The Body Shop Maca Root cream Blade: Feather (2) Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Jack Black balm, Old Spice Lime original Shulton cologne Frosted Glass 1960s Loaded the Feather and checked the alignment. From the side it looks a lot like my Gillette Old Type Open Comb Ball End, but shaves like my Tech. I whipped up the Maca Root with the Silvertip in my favorite mug. First pass WTG very nice glide with no pressure with this light razor. Second pass XTG on my face and then ATG on my neck. The Maca Root was nice and slick and helped get a great shave. A little touchup on my neck, and done. Great razor! Very smooth. The WH felt good and then some JB. And then some Vintage Old Spice Lime original Shulton cologne from the 1960s. Time in a bottle.....
ohh...forgot about the Arctique. Next summer, I want something COLD(as I've said)to balance off Skin-Bracer.
well, since they all have the "M" word that is needed so much to combat humidity(menthol), I may well consider both.
Well and update with this morning shave. Been awhile since I used Cryogen and super, super cold but I thought I would take it up a notch and added three drops of my homemade M-Bomb which is stronger than TSD M-Bomb and let me tell you that was a mistake. My eyes were close to tears, both checks were frozen and I didn't dare do a third pass and went with warm water rinse. Yup, I wimped out. Never going to do that again.
5oct15 Tried the Schick again... Not bad but I've done better. Two to three passes with constant touch up. I stopped before things got too bad, no blood, just irritation. Even as I applied the Nivea Sensitive Cooling Post Shave, I was still feeling spots that I missed. Tomorrow I'll be back to the DE and new blade.

A great Menthol Monday shave. Razor - Gillette Slim Blade - Wilkinson Sword Pre shave - Proraso green Lather - Proraso green Aftershave - Nivea Cooling Balm Brush - Pilsson synthetic
Monday Prep: Hot shower Lather: The Soap Exchange Bay Rum lanolin Brush: TGN Synthetic Razor: FrankenNew SC Blade: Astra SP Post: Ogallala Bay Rum The Soap Exchange soap continues to improve with continued use or perhaps my ability to make lather is improving. Regardless, it is turning into a nice shaving soap with a slight hint of bay rum scent. Slick and shiny but still does not produce huge amounts of lather. I think that likely makes it more economical. I've never been one who needs great mounds of meringue like lather, just something slick and shiny works well for my face.
