I had high hopes for this blade after seeing some favorable reviews. While I'm not willing to call it a bad blade, I've had better results from Feather, Gillette 7 O'Clock Blue and GSB blades. Day three gave me a nice shave, but I got some irritation on my neck. I think this will be my last shave with this blade.

Clint, you used an ideal set up this morning. Great photo, and the New LC on the Triad Helix SS handle rocks.

Thank you Charlie. I do really enjoy this set up. Looking forward to the Wolfman for at least the next 3 shaves.

    OCtober - Trick or TREET
    October 6

    Razor - Edwin Jagger DE89l
    Blade - [IMG](3)
    Brush - BoS Omega 10066
    Soap - Mitchell's Wool Fat
Post - Cold Water, Alum, Nivea Original

Final day on the Trig and it's a good thing. This blade pretty much died overnight sitting on the shelf. The drag factor was quite a bit worse than yesterday and I wouldn't want to push it to four shaves. Not a bad thing, necessarily, but the King was the same way so maybe Treets are three and out blades by design. Anyway, the BoSFat was the usual fantastic lather, three full passes to a DFS, but I've had better finishes. All in all a good shave, and the Trig is a TREET not a trick overall. I'll just make sure to note that it's a two shave blade and done just to avoid the letdown on day three.

Today is an important day, by the way, because it's the day before the most important day of the year. Well, ok so it's not that important but..... Tomorrow I finally get to fully open the box @Rufus T. sent me last month and end the mystery. Cake and ice cream for everyone tomorrow on me!

    Razor: 20's Old Type
    Blade: 7 O'Clock SharpEdge (2), no shim

Running a bit late, so just a quick one-pass WTG. Ended up with a nice CCS with minimal irritation.

    Feather blade (3)
    Kent BK4 silvertip brush
    TSD lanolin unscented
    Two passes
Thayer's Lavender witch hazel, unrefined shea butter, and Trumper's Coral Skin Food

I enjoyed another great late morning shave with the New LC. One small nick on my lower lip due to operator error. Going to finish this week with the ball end handle on the New LC and switch over to the smaller of the two Mongoose handles next week. Have a great day!

OC October - This month I'll introduce myself to my OCs.
    Gillette New LC
    Gillette Goodwill
    Standard Safety Razor OC
    Schick Type C1 OC
    ImageUploadedByTapatalk1444151367.372146.jpg
    Hot Shower, Morning Shave
    Soap: Cella
    Brush: Omega Pro 48
    Razor: Gillette New LC
    Blade: Voskhod (1)
    TSD Witch Hazel
    Aftershave: Proraso Green

In the first week I used a 7 O'Clock Blue and had 5 great shaves in the New LC. So with my last remaining shaves before switching to the next razor, I will try out another blade in it. (@NCoxSTL my choice has nothing to do with getting back on the good side of the Cartel. Really. Nothing at all. Trust me.)

    Two-pass shave (XTG, ATG).

1st pass - Very smooth, good feedback, really nice reduction.
2nd pass - Very efficient, more feedback, few repeat strokes.

A completely satisfying shave! Smooth and clean face all the way around, with no irritation. Excellent first shave with this blade! In fact, THE ABSOLUTE BEST SHAVE OF MY LIFE, REALLY! (How's that NC?)

Autumn is my favorite season of the year.
Among the many reasons - the Fall Classic!
    Play ball!

Neal, I look forward to the grand unveiling tomorrow. Oct. 7 is Bald and Free Day, but I'm absolutely sure there is no connection here with Vince's gift.

"Bald and Free Day honors those of us with a beautiful, shiny top. You don't' have to be bald to celebrate this day. But, it helps. People who are married to, or related to a bald headed person can celebrate with the honoree."

One of, if not my favorite razors with a Voskhod blade, which is the first time I have used this manufacture. Added a little menthol crystals to the bowl before adding the cream. I think I said before I used a tablespoon of hot water to the menthol, but is a teaspoon. Excellent 3 pass shave tonight. It will be interesting to see how this blade holds up over a week.

It is amazing how much results vary from person to person. If that wasn't the case, we would all be using the "best " blade

RazoRock Black Mamba with iKon Wave
    Feather #1
    Varlet Beehive Badger 24 X 50mm
    Martin de Candre Fougere
Witch Hazel +++Menthol, Cucumber Melon Whipped Shea Butter
    Fine Platinum

Today was the RR Black Mamba’s maiden voyage. Loaded with a Feather, lathered with MDC by the Varlet Beehive produced a frosting like face coat. The Black Mamba's weight and finish allowed the razor to glide very smoothly. Excellent finish! The shaving angle was very easy to maintain. The razor left more stubble than I’m used to. Three passes plus lots to clean up on the way to BBS. No nicks, no cuts, and no weepers. Finished with a generous splash of Fine Platinum.
