The shipping charges are shown in a tab for the item you are bidding on, as an example for the Drew Estates 8 tin smapler

The price list for additional items are:

    upload_2015-10-4_17-52-24.png

I have my account settings to ship weekly instead of daily, so I accumulate winning bids and save on shipping.

I'll bid on a lot of stuff with a bid closing date all within my same shipping week, then stay away from the site for a few weeks. It's more expensive than shipping costs of an order from P&C, but not a lot more.

You just have to be careful to not overbid, some people get carried away and bid more than the item sells for on P&C or Cigars International.

    A nice morning smoke.
I went back to OGS this morning and took the time to let it dry out a little before I crumbled the slice. I think I'm starting to be able to detect flavors... Maybe a little nutty?
I think I actually got a little buzz for the first time, too. Interesting.

I fell like OGS is better dried out a bit. It helps to tame down the "grassy/citric" notes and allows the more subtle flavor to appear.

Back to good old 1888 Early Day this morning. Smooth and cool burning as I try to pace myself.

After dinner I had a bowl of Drew Estates Gatsby Luxury Flake in the same pipe. I really like the Luxury FLake, it's a good thing I have two more tins on the way and I look forward to trying the other Drew Estate blends in the sampler packs.

I in fact do have some experience with this type of pipe. My GF bought me one as a gift (pic included). I'm not certain if they are all from the same maker, but here is what I do know:
-They are made of Pear Wood
-They are lightweight for their size but quite well made and sturdy
    -They take a 9mm filter

Also, I can't speak to all of them, but mine is a beautiful smoker. And they are gorgeous pipes. If you see one you really like and it's in your budget, give it a try. =)

2 Dr. Grabow Pipes.JPG Got lucky and nabbed two new pipes on ebay. A Dr. Grabow Royal Duke Bulldog in smooth finish and a Grand Duke Canadian (I believe) in smooth finish; let me know if I'm correct on the canadian or not @BamaT . :)
The buy it now was $60 for both, so I tried and offer of $30 and they accepted! Now they're on their way and I'm happy. lol

Actually that's not a Canadian, sorry! A Canadian has an oval shank and taper stem/bit, with a shank that is roughly twice in length as the bowl is high. Of course sometimes these guidelines get stretched a bit, particularly with regard to the absolute length of the shank. A Lovat will have a long round shank with a saddle bit. A Lumberman will have a long oval shank with a saddle bit, and a Liverpool will have a long round shank with a taper bit.

I would call that a Lovat style, since it definitely has a saddle bit and a somewhat longer round shank.

That's a good price for two! Do you know how old they are? I know you'll get bigger better pics later. :)

    Pipe of the year decade.

I am sitting at the edge of a rocky, lava-strewn black volcanic beach, a few miles north of Kona, western shore of the island of Hawai'i. The sky is a perfect pitch-black dome, pierced by thousands upon thousands of stars, occasionally streaked by a stray meteor. The pipe is simply an old Kaywoodie. The tobacco is 1888 After Dinner. Used a Bic lighter from a gas station. Drinking a Dr. pepper. I haven't worn a watch in three days...:)

Pre-breakfast pipe of twaddle mix in the MM Great Dane. For those scratching their heads saying, "What the heck is twaddle mix?!"; lol, twaddle is the left over tobacco in the bottom of your bowl after a smoke, also referred to as "tailings". Sherlock Holmes was known to save his twaddle on a piece of paper throughout the day and set it on his mantlepiece to dry overnight, and then smoke it the following morning. Be an individual who dislikes waste, I took up the practice many years ago. Never thought to list it on here among the "mixtures" I smoke in the course of the day; but figured maybe I should, as perhaps others may also want to try it. :)

A nice afternoon smoke. This was my first bowl of Captain Black, and I like it. I notice a marshmallow note that makes me think of s'mores. The smoke is pleasing and mild.

Sosince you are shavers and smokers let me ask an interesting question....how does the smoke from your pipe interfere or compliment the other scents you might be using....like AS or balm or cologne? Do you just never smoke before work or a night on the town ?
