You would think that after 162 games with the best record in the league that they would allow you to be champions! :D

    That's what I'm saying!
Same thing for Pittsburgh and Chicago - they win 97 and 96 games respectively, and what do they get? A one game playoff! :susel:

    WEDNESDAY
    Evening Shave for Tomorrow
Early start in the a.m. so an evening shave was in order. Used the restored Takehana FEON 5/8 for tonight's shave as it is one of the easiest-to-manuever straights I have in the arsenal. The steel takes a very keen but smooth edge, making for a quick 3-pass shave.
    Have a great Wednesday, everyone!

Arko, one of the most loved and hated shaving soap out there. Personally I think it is a great performing soap, but I do understand why people do not care for the smell. It does indeed smell like an industrial cleaning soap. The kind used to clean Governor Tarkin’s bathroom.
Rumour has it that the Governor has a foul stench and for that you need to bring out the strong stuff. Personally I do not mind the smell and although not a great scent it still is somewhat pleasing.

Despite its disadvantage of being a soap with a smelly reputation, it lathers up beautifully. A few quick swirls with the brush is all it takes to build an impressive amount of creamy and slick lather.

I used my Merkur Progress for this shave. I have come to realize that adjustable razors are not my cup of tea. I have two and the Progress is the one I have used least in my DE shaving career.
It work OK, but I just don’t care for it.

But I do have to use it a few times a year, and one of those times was today. I set it on a low setting using a black 7 o’clock blade and went to work. The performance of the blade and razor was decent enough. I got a CCS after two passes, and I am happy with that. But it did not change my impression of this razor. I guess I need to test it with different blades and give it a proper chance.

    Razor: Merkur Progress
    Blade: Gillette 7 o'clock Black
    Brush: Lijun Shaving
    Soap: Arko
    Aftershave: Lucido

Excellent shave today. I tried distilled water to bloom the soap after reading about it in a few SOTDs. I don't think it made a big difference for me, but I think it would for those with hard water.
I set the Futur on six and got a drama free BBS again. The PAA aftershave provided a nice eye opening scent and cooling menthol.
    Prep: WSP Matterhorn PSO
Soap: Cold River Soap Works Jardin d'Orange

    Odin's Day:

Prep: Hot shower, Healthy Accents Daily Renewal Cleanser, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm
    Brush: Simpsons 56 Best Badger
    Lather: Ginger's Garden Oakmoss soap
    Razor: RazoRock Bamboozled RAKE OC
    Blade: Bolzano Superinox (4)
    Passes: WTG, XTG (8. 9)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma alum, Dickinson's witch hazel, Pinaud Clubman AS splash
Cologne: Gaiac by M. Mitcallef (sample)

I took yesterday off from shaving to let my weepers heal up. Better lather today produced a better shave, but I could still tell that the blade was getting past its prime; if I remember, there will be a new blade in use tomorrow. For some reason, starting with the Oakmoss scented soap makes the citrus notes in the Clubman stand out more strongly to my nose. DFS results without bloodshed counts as a win.

Damn, my face nearly did fall off from this menthol blitz - the Glacial Spearmint soap's freezing sensation was ultra-potent and the Glacial Wintergreen balm and witch hazel felt almost as painfully-cold as the B&M Arctique, but in a great way. This shave was most delightful and BBS as BBS could be! :happy088:
