OCtober Focus Day 8: Homemade PS Oil Stirling Synthetic Brush Mitchell's Wool Fat Phoenix Dbl OC Stirling Unscented PSB Skin Bracer Back to OC razors, and I picked up my Phoenix Dbl OC. It was just like I remember, and with a new Feather blade, it provided a nice, smooth shave. The Wool Fat was also fantastic as normal, so I am fully ready to start my Thursday.
Sorry I've been MIA again. 10/15 tax deadline has me working too much. My October focus on my Old Types (starting with the Single Ring 102) started out really nice. After 2 wonderful shaves at the beginning of the month now I'm struggling. I think the "window" for the perfect angle on this razor is very small and I've been missing it. The shaves aren't all that close and my face screams when the AS goes on. I did switch from 7 O'clock Blues (from RufusT) to Astra SP's. Noticeably rougher, but the Astras have always been my "go to" blade. I've switched up soaps (TSD, Stirling, RazoRock) with the same results. Unfortunately I need to shave 7 days because of work so I can't give my face a rest. I'll keep trying. Any suggestions?
SOTD October 8, 2015 Prep: Hot Shower. Axe Energizing Face Wash Boost Razor: Mongoose B3 Dr. Bomber Handle Blade: Feather Professional Lather: Italian Barber Rosa di Bossolasco Brush: RazoRock Plissoft Post: Thayers Cucumber WH. Gold Bond Ultimate Aftershave: Folsom & Co. Capri Oh so nice. The Mongoose is a set it and forget it kinda razor, my shaves are consistently good. This IB croap is a bargain at $4.99, great lather, the scent is rose and citrus. I'm still on the fence with this Plissoft.. Never let the things you WANT Make you forget the things you HAVE

Thanks Herm! Good to see you posting. I know this is a busy tax time for you. I've been on vacation the past few days, so I have a little more time to check in as well. Have a great week.
Add me to the list of members that love this site. When I started wet shaving, I joined five forums and mainly lurked. When I finally started posting, this was the most welcoming and friendly forum of the bunch. Many members responded with advice and encouragement. I also received a surprise gift from a very generous member. This is now home for me other than an occasional post on a British site. Thanks guys. Thanks for a great post and Happy Birthday!
Thanks Kerry. I thought that was what I was doing, but evidently not. I'm going to have to get up just a bit earlier and take my time. I'm also going back to the 7 O'clock Blue just to see. As you know, blades perform differently with different razors.
Bill, I hope you and your Bride are having a wonderful time. You're traveling in some beautiful country, and we all know YOU want to see Donnie and Marie. Have safe travels.
