My HIS lather monster lived up to its name, whipping up thick yogurt from Rhapsody. This is an amazing soap in every way. I used Gillette 7 o'clock yellow in the Futur for the first time, and it was efficient, but louder and not as comfortable as other blades. The result is still a drama free BBS, but I could feel the blade more. I finished with B&M Cologne Russe for a nice match and a great scent in its own right.

I love Rod's Barbershop-scented soap so much - it gave me its delightful, rich, slick lather and the scent reminded me of a real old-school barbershop. The Canada Cedar aftershave smells very barbershoppy also. What a wonderful shave this was!

today's shave was delightful. all elements firing on cue. sc inspiration smells terrific. three passes of the Matador, Ole'. finished with bigelow lotion, feels like a/s balm to me.

Here's a working definition of laziness: I knew I wanted to change the blade before this AM's shave, but told myself 'Nah, the Speick will protect me.' Fortunately, my faith was not misplaced, as the Speick - in conjunction with a 'riding the cap' technique - proved slick and thick enough to prevent any weepers or nicks, with only a minor amount of irritation on the scar on my throat. DFS+ results from three passes.
