With it starting to warm up, I think it's time for me to shave the noggin back down. I've not yet developed the talent of Jimbo (hopefully one day), but I do wonder of the headblade is decent. It really looks to be a smooth contraption, but we all know that looks can be deceiving.
I personally have not tried it but I cant believe that it would be much better than just using a bic. You can pick those things up on the bay for like...50 for 10$. I think its more price concious to just buy the razors. I mean whats the big difference between wiping your hand down your head or just holding a razor and doing it. On the other hand, I think I was reading that it was created by members of a head shaving forum. Maybe theyre onto something? I mean, if we were to create a DE and a straight, im sure they'd be awesome. Review it and let us know
Sorry Sparky, I can't help you there either. I've seen them in shops but never used one. I don't even know how they work. I talked to a shopkeep about them once, and he basically said they were the best thing since sliced bread - but he was a salesman (and he had a full head of hair...). He looked honest though James.
Mine lasted about 3 weeks, it slipped out of my hand and broke on the tile floor. It's all plastic. It worked o.k., I think the shhh... "M3" works better and if you have to buy cartridges anyway they're easier to find. The Headlube shave cream is fantastic, really slick stuff w/ menthol (get the pump; it does make it easier and you only have to buy it once) ***The one I had was the 3 wheel thing, not the little Toyota looking one, I don't know if they improved the quality or not***
Similar story here. I get much better results using a Fusion razor with Hydrolast shaving paste and primer in the shower. Save your money on the headblade, but like Sailinblues said, Headslick is great shave cream. cheers, j
I used a M3 on the dome, worked pretty good. I haven't jumped on the Headblade products, I have enough things in my den to take care of shaving my head.
I'm not a headshaver, but Igather one would look for something with SPF in the summers, the Nivea ASB would maybe be nice?
I've been using the headblade for awhile now and love it. I very seldom get nicks or cuts as it's alot easier to controll the pressure with it versus a razor.
I was tempted and bought one. I haven't used it enough to give it a fair review yet, but it seems to be a bit of a pain to use it in tight spaces, like around the ear. I think part of my problem is realizing that it's not a DE, and the side of the razor won't cut me. :ashamed001 I'll keep working with it, and let you gents know how it goes.
I could see how it could be alittle hard to use around the ear. How bout a good ol fashioned Bic classic? I mean for 6 for 2$ you cant really go wrong just giving one a try.
Around the ear is a bit of a pain, I usually do 2 passes on my head and three on my face and do touch ups on my head when I do my third face pass. When I get brave I'm going to try my Gillette Tech with a Crystal blade on my head and see how that goes, it'd be nice to only have to buy 1 type of blade ever again.
My first couple of 'headshaves' were with a Fusion, and to be honest I just couldn't get a decent shave on the dome......some swear by them, but for me, it was a real pain......good for around the ears though! The Headblade was for me a godsend, I took to it real quick.....loved the finish it gave me.... really easy. I recommend them for ease of use,YMMV, but you won't know unless you try it. Some love 'em, some don't, but ain't that the way with most things?
Well, i've been using the headblade sport for about 2 months now. I really hate to say it, but this razor is really nice. I really wanted to be done with cartridge razors forever, but I just can't do it. It took about a week to get the hang of using it, which was probably from my not using a cartridge in years. Now that i've got the hang of things, I can complete an entire shave in about the time it would take to comb my hair. One huge tip... The headblade brand blades are garbage. Use their included adapter, and make the change to gillette blades. the difference is huge. Now I need to find an S4 headblade :drool
Well, the way I look at it is I don't have to buy shampoo so it's a fair trade off for buying carts. lol
I guess i'll have to back that one up. Whoever said having a bald head was less work is crazy though.
I've been using a Gillette Fusion for the last 5 years to shave my head. Only complaint is the crazy expense and waste of the blades. I bought a headblade sport a while back, but didn't use it until a month ago. When I used it I took a big chunk out of my head. I took a break from it and used it again the other day without any gashes. It's a decent shave but it got clogged something terrible. This would be taken care of if you bought other blades and use the adapter. But then why wouldn't you just use the other razor?
It's not the blade that makes this so great for me. I just like the way it guarantees that my angle is correct. The head is a bit more difficult to shave in my opinion, but honestly, any razor is capable of the job.
Did you ever find an S4? If you like the Headblade Sport you will love the S4. The extra weight of the S4 provides for a better shave . . . great razor for shaving the head. I heard mention that Headblade was going to do a black metal razor (like the S4) due out next year. I hope the rumor pans out because I would love to have another metal Headblade.
