My day has been pretty good so far, I've watched college football for most of the day. Had a fantastic shave! I'll start dinner in about 45 minutes from now, the wife wants breakfast for dinner so I'll make fried potatoes and eggs with bacon and toast. I'll have it hot and ready for when she walks in the front door. I'm also marinating chicken for tomorrow's dinner, which I'll be baking, and having macaroni and cheese (my daughters choice) ok I love it to!
I had a most-excellent, formerly living locally, flank steak for dinner which I marinated for 2 days in mint, basil, garlic, ginger, soy, and balsamic. And then it all went very south when I over-cooked the (then still very undercooked) intended leftovers and turned them into dog food.
Well going to make some shrimp with a nice salad and praise the lord for all the good things I'm so lucky to have!
Thanks. At least I got the first serving right. But, I was looking forward to the leftovers. Live and learn, I guess.
that's what my mom's first cat did to me whenever she put her in my care in my apt. Each morning at 4 AM- "Meow"...LEAP ON BED.
The closest I ever came to having a heart attack was when I was about 18 or so, and was spending the night at my grandmothers house. About 2am I was awakened by thunder. I couldn't remember if my car windows were up or down so I went out to check. Sure enough they were down, so I reached out to open the door and at that moment there was a flash of lightning followed immediately by a clap of thunder. A cat leaped out of the car, hit me in the chest, dug in his claws and screamed at the top of his lungs in my face. It took 20 minutes for my heart to stop pounding and several hours before I could go back to sleep. I haven't cared for cats since.
I had a great day hiking with friends to a lake at about 8000feet in the wilderness. It was a strenuous hike, but worth it.
Hang in there. I know it's a real frustrating situation when the doctors seem to be ineffective, especially when it's one of your children. Hopefully the new specialist will be able to help.
I got a chance to sit down with my new Naniwa hone arsenal and a razor that I had purposely killed the bevel on. Set the bevel at 1000 then progressed through 5000, 8000, and 12000. Did a few laps on a diamond sprayed strop, then 25 on scrub leather, and 50 on the smooth. Not bad for my first full honing attempt. It will pop hair on the arm, and passes the HHT at about a 3+.
Spent a part of the beautiful weekend up here at north Lake Tahoe at the nearby shooting range with a variety of hefty hardware: Glock 19; Desert Eagle 50EA; and the Smith & Wesson 500 revolver. Good fun and yes, my wrists are sore...
