Dark bulb that is funny because I actually showed her your post. Telling her that is a totally cool razor. Then the next thing you know I have one. Are you sure yours is still there? Maybe she went over and liberated it from you
I can speak of the Gillette Aristocrat I have, a straight bar 1948-1950 these are a little tamer than their predecessor. Outstanding shaver that can be found for under $50 in good condition.
Tell her my birthdays in 10 days. I lust after one of those. I'll be lookout for raiding @Darkbulb. Happy Birthday!!! You have a wonderful bride. Great score!!!
Btw, if that's all it takes can you also show her some photos of a toggle in mint condition, a Tradere SB razor and couple of double rings and telling her they are cool razors?
The 'sad' thing is I can't remember if I have two or three Sheratons so I went looking for the third...but couldn't find one...so, I think I only have two and, they are happily safe here
Today was the monthly antiques fair and I had another good day. The long handled Black Beauty (W-3) looks like it might be NOS. The old Pinaud bottle looks like it will clean up nice. The most intriguing think is the old leather kit that is stamped on the bottom "Made in England for The White House, San Francisco". The White House was an upper end Department Store that was open from 1910-1965 in San Francisco. http://www.timeshutter.com/image/san-francisco-cal-white-house The real goody was inside the case. The New Watts Service Razor. This thing is a beauty and also looks to be never used. It was patented in 1929 and I'm not sure how long they were made. Does anybody know much about them? The Golden 500 was thrown into the deal and you would be shocked at how little I paid for all of this. It was a $77.00 day Thanks.
Are you KIDDING me?! You stumbled upon a Watts in the wild?!?! These are all stainless steel, made in Sheffield England, takes a modern DE blade and even though it might look like the top plate is missing that's actually how they are supposed to be. If you ever wanna sell it....let me know and I'll make you a good offer.
Who is it that says, "A blind squirrel ......."? It was in the closed case with a Visa/MasterCard sign sitting on it.
