I came across one while back that sold for $60 but needed a lot of work, not to mention a quality knot. I do my own restores and have done nearly 3 dozen for me and family but my thinking was if I was going too spend a lot of man hours in cleaning, polishing and buffing one back to life it would need a quality knot such as shavemac, or the less expensive Romera Manchurian which is actually one of the best buys I ever made in knots but then we are talking over $130 to $200 or better not including the labor. So I went with switchback 400 which I was lucky enough to pickup new $25 and the 25mm HMB cost me like $22 from China and one hour labor. Took longer to figure out how too secure the knot as there is no bottom so when you replace the knot you have a cylinder. now if I happen too luck into one at an antique store like I did with one of my straights I picked up for $10 then I'll step forward for the challenge.
Picked up a rather ornate razor (for cartridge razors at least) that I think will go rather nicely with some recently acquired shaving mugs. Made in England but no idea of age or material. If I were to guess I'd say 1980's and silver painted plastic - which the price kinda reflected. We'll see.
Hello all, I just pulled the trigger on a Kent BLK2 tonight. It hasn't shipped yet, but I'm pretty excited. I like small brushes, and this one fits the bill. Here's a screenshot of what it looks like- $54 and some change shipped! I'm happy!
Paid my Mongoose invoice today. Now I'll be stalking the mail lady for a while. I ordered the Satin finished with bomber handle.
Yes, I ordered a couple of sample packs from them right after I got on the waiting list. I feel like a kid waiting on Santa.
