I've been to two places in Reno...the Airport Laquinta Inn, and the airport. But the place looks nice. Wonderful mountain scenery outside my LaQuinta window.
Need to stop buying stuff. Got this eversharp hydro-magic and Williams luxury soap... is the luxury soap the vintage?
Couple of things I received recently. First up is a cute little travel set that doesn't appear to have had much if any use. The blade holder is just two pieces of leather sewn at the bottom, I assume the longer tube would hold a travel toothbrush, the talc bottle is full, the empty bottle smells like it once held aftershave, the shave stick and the brush twist up like a lady's lipstick, and the Gillette Tech razor head has a unique handle. Next up is a razor that I can't find any information on. A white Schick L Type. This one was obviously marketed to ladies but so far I haven't found any reference to it. When I scored a purple handled Schick L Type and found out that it was quite scarce (thanks to another ShaveDen member), I went to the same encyclopedia of razors but the only other rare one was an orange handled version so I'm calling my latest acquisition the rarest of the rare L types. That is, until someone corrects me. Oh, and by the way, it's still got the plastic blade in it and the original two blade injector.
Ah so you're the one that got the white Schick L I was in the bidding up until a point. They are rather rare but not impossible to find - there's one or two on the bay at this moment but in less stellar condition than yours. Congrats on a nice haul.
Paul, the second best place to appreciate Reno is from the airport as it means you're not staying there long! The best place to appreciate Reno is staying 45 minutes away from it in Lake Tahoe… Lake Tahoe or Reno? Hmmmmmmm…….
Reno is where I began my "National Flight Tour" after our family reunion in the Tahoe area. It was Reno to Phoenix, Phoenix to Baltimore, Baltimore to Providence, and I drove home in my Mom's car(they began their flight tour in Providence). Actually, I drove that car to HER house, where mine was parked. THEN I went home.
Birthday Gift from my parents just got it tonight. It is a 1921 Debutante. Does this mean I am only allowed to shave my legs with this razor? They found it a thrift store. Paid $25 for it. Seems like a fair price. Now I have something to do this weekend. I get to clean it up. There are 2 small cracks on either end of handle. It seems pretty solid.
Yes it is, so is my wife. Very lucky. My parents are retired and the love to drive all over the place and go to thrift stores. So I have some extra eyes out looking for razors.
Hey Guys, minutes ago a little package came in...from Norway...let´s see what was in there: I opened the tub and i didn´t smell almost anything. The cream is (because of the cold weather out here) too cold to give me an Info about the scent. But i took a tiny bit between my fingers and began to rub it. Man, i can tell you...Heavenly!!! If you like woodsy scents (this one smells completely natural like Pine and Fir) then this is your Shaving Cream. Wow!!! If it lathers like it smells...Woohoo!!! The Cream cost me (within shipping from Norway to Germany) about 26€. That´s not the cheapest thing, but when we are honest...we all are a bit crazy (sometimes). Greetings Thorsten
