I remember when Jose Canseco came up, he was electric. That was when I was really getting into MLB and starting understand the game. Of course, as a Dodgers fan, when the A's and Dodgers met in the 88 series, he terrified me.

Saw McGwire in the minors too. The 88-89 A's had a bunch of ex-Huntsville players on the bench.

Yeah well I could feel that one coming in the second inning. I actually made the avatar last night. Hoped it was way early but, well y'know.

Yep, absolutely one of the best logos ever. And I'm disappointed you didn't come up and say hi at one of the games back then. Sheesh.....how rude. :prrr:

There is actually a minor league team in O'Fallon, MO, about 15 miles from where I live, called the River City Rascals. Needless to say with the Cards literally just over the river the Rascals don't get much press. But there are those who love to take in games there. Cheaper than the big leagues and that great minor league feel.

Definitely on a bad shave streak for the past two days. I'm not really sure what's going on, I switched to a Personna blue today and yielded poor results. Tomorrow I'm going to reevaluate everything I do when shaving. I tried finding glycerin at the pharmacy and couldn't find any. But I think a slicker lather would definitely be beneficial. I'm beat so I won't go into much more detail. I will update tomorrow. If anyone has any tips, it's much appreciated.

Thanks for all the help everyone!

Back in 1980-82 I went to about 50 Oakland A's games a year, back when Billy Martin was the Manager, BillyBall! Boy those were good times! With the creator of The Wave :wave:Krazy George at the Coliseum. I think we paid $5 for a ticket and a hotdog and soft drink. Oh, and a young speedster
    name Rickey Henderson. :scared007:

It may be that time when you need to take a step back, take a breath and grab a blade you know works well and just have a couple of good shaves with it. No pressure, no worries about progress or anything else. Just shave. Kind of a zen shaving moment if that makes sense. Sometimes we get to be our own worst enemies over analyzing when things go wrong. Trust me, been there done that.

My plan was to do just passes today but the lather was great, the first 3 passes felt great so I went for it. Did about 2/3 of my 4th pass. No blood and the alum test indicated just very light irritation. Almost BBS, still not 100% there due to my lower neck. I just can't find a way to do the ear to adam's apple pass on the lower neck. Irritation A-, closeness A-

    L'Occitane Cade shave cream
    Hart Steel 7/8 French point

Hang in there. When I was learning to use a DE there were ups and downs and sometimes I would hit a bad streak for a few days. One of the hardest habits to break is pressure, when I hit a bad streak it was usually due to pressure. Go slow, no pressure and it you are irritated skip the ATG pass. Don't worry the good shaves will come.

Back in the days of free flowing libations...

While watching a boxing match at college town bar, I witnessed two minor pro hockey players get into fisticuffs.

England has rugby and association football.

The USA has lacrosse and football.

    Canada has curling and hockey.

Still don't know how hockey seemed like a sound idea, but the winters are long, and the whiskey is pretty good. And Canadian dudes are usually pretty tough no-nonsense guys. Those people up north have beans and beer for breakfast. And some stuff called poutine, which is basically health food like granola, only with more cheese curd and fried potatoes and brown gravy, and way less oatmeal than regular granola. Mostly because no one wants to drink Labatt's off the tap and eat health food. It's also what happens when French cuisine meets good old awful English food ideas. Western Canada, I know you had no part in this. But I know you guys like whiskey, beer and hockey as much as anyone, and those Edmonton teams with Gretzky and Messier were as good as anything Montreal has ever seen.

So basically, thank you Canada. With poutine and hockey the world is truly a better place.
