Beautiful Handle and Brush, great looking Straight,

 

I had not planned on shaving until tonight, but after feeling my face this morning I realized I had no choice if I wanted to present myself as a somewhat civilized man.

Therefore, time was somewhat limited and I opted to use a shave stick. I decided to use my lavender smelling stick from D.R Harris. This is a stick I have been pleased with before, and todays shave was no exception. In fact I was quite surprised on the amount of lather I managed to get after just a few swipes across my face.

I used the Gillette Bell Tech with an “older” Iridium Super blade. It is the fifth time I used this blade, and it worked just like it was brand new. This is such a wonderful combination that I could probably shave with just these tools for the rest of my life without any regrets.
In fact I need to order more blades ASAP.

Brothers Bristles Spartan Bronze
My brother made a masterpiece in this brush handle! I asked him to make something in bronze to honor our alma matter Michigan State Spartans. It's heavy bronze with a rustic patina, into which I put a 24mm Fauxmere knot from Chiseled Face. I have used Plisson synthetics before and this one is larger and has more backbone while being just as soft.
I used Tabac! to christen this (of course), and it performs perfectly. I used Der Futur on five for all three passes and I'm left with a comfortable BBS. PAA Lime Ginger and Tea Tree wrapped things up nicely.

Damn, after this shave I think I might need a torch to unfreeze my face as a good friend of mine was saying. The Glacial Obsidian soap almost numbed me during the first pass and when I re-lathered for the second one I felt almost disoriented. The matching balm however, felt so soothing in spite of its freezing sensation and when I slapped on the Glacial Wintergreen witch hazel I felt like my face was catching fire - that's how cold and wonderful it felt. BBS as usual with so much enjoyment!

today's shave was good.
the brothers bristles made great lather from Cella. I was filed with intrepidation. I'll explain that in the oc thread. three passes made me very close, we'll see about comfy. finished with iced Brut.

Today's shave was a near BBS on two passes including clean up. The classic, my best travel brush had no trouble whipping up a mountain of Proraso Blue lather. The iKon Short Comb delivered a smooth comfortable shave. This was my last vacation shave. Finished up with a generous splash of Floid Blue Aftershave. I am ready for another day in paradise. Happy Friday! The Gondolier was whipped into a nice lather by the #6 brush. The R41 paired with the Astra SP and "The Hornet" did a good job knocking down the stubble. The Cuir Cannage was a nice finish for this Darn Fine Shave +.

Maggard Platinum Tobacco & Leather today. 20 seconds to load the oscar11 HMW. Easy, thick, slick, lather. Gillette Silver Blue still in the Slim. Great smooth, close, shave. I finished with Burberry Brit.

I liked the looks of that Brit when I first saw it as an ad in my Men's Health mag..(I don't subscribe to it anymore...I wish there was one called Gentleman's Health.)

2 passes with sunlight sort of coming in the window and I feel great. Normal work week is shaving before the sun, so it was nice to relax a little and take more time.
I think Ogallala has replace Old Spice as my daily aftershave.
