That is an amazing collection of great razors. No doubt you will be well known on TSD for your love of the ABC/Gillette Pocket Editions.
Thank you Jayaruh! I really enjoy these sets. So far the count stands at 10 Ornate handle ABC sets, 3 Smooth Ball Canadian ABC sets, and 5 standard Gillette Pocket Editions. (Counting one not shown in the photo, and the one arriving today. ).
I think I only have one of these ABC razors - uncased and in rather mediocre condition. Is it possible to tell what "model" of ABCs I have based on the photo (if ABCs comes in model versions that is ): 0 The handle actually polished up rather well and I really liked it with for instance a Famex head as per below:
Hello Darkbulb, your ABC razor is a Shell Pattern razor. The serial number on the comb guard will tell you what year it is. The funny thing about ABC sets is that the handles don't necessarily match the case styles. I have done some research on this, and appearantly, there is no way to know what handle goes with each set. They were sent out very randomly from the factory. I don't know why.
Won an auction I hadnt planned on winning. I now own three Schick Type B's, two of which the OC gold version. I may just have to corner the market on Schick type B razors.
Btw - would you happen to know if the repeating blade cartridges (the 20 packs) are different for the Type A vs the B/C models? The A is of course the round handled one and I'm not sure if all three models (A/B/C) takes the same cartridge/magazines.
The Buddha reckons that there were at least 2 different types of magazines for the Repeater's....The early ones were made by the Repeating Razor Company & the later ones by Eversharp...The differences were only cosmetic, however, and therefore all the repeater's will accept the same magazine... Billy...
Just got an Aristocrat off of eBay. I have been wanting one, and it was a decent price. I am also waiting on my most recent Stirling order with lots of bath soaps and some Gatlinburg SS. I also noticed that they had unscented mentholated PSB, so I picked some of this up as well.
