Another thing my overworked mailman dropped off this week was an old EverReady lathercatcher.
Thanks to @Billyfergie who helped determine that it's either a 1908 or 1911/1912.
I think it will clean up really nicely. The wooden handle is in near perfection condition and the head appears to be just dirty.
I guess I'll know for sure after it's cleaned up if it was worth the $30 bill or not...

What surprised me a bit was how small/short the handle is on this model.
Even though it's pretty tiny it's easy to hold on to and feels pretty good (and, yes, "that's what she said").

Here it is next to a Gillette Slim for some further sense of scale:

I know that these razors came in at least two models - the short one I have now and also a long-handled version:

I know there's a couple of you that will have interest in today's finds...

    Gillette black handle SS (M1)
    GEM SE
GEM SE push button to open
    Fuller nylon with stand
    Ever Ready F40
    Small oil can just because
    And Pinaud Lilac Vegetal bottle.

And I'm already regretting not picking up one or two other items that I saw.

That's a great weekend haul. To me, the star is the vintage Pinaud glass bottle! :) Nice!

I think I found something good today in the wild. I'm visiting my daughters in the San Diego area and went into a shop this morning. I found what I think is a type one Old Spice mug. It had the Ship Friendship with no pennant on the front mast.
It has no ribs inside the mug.
And has what I think is the correct wording on the bottom.
Can any of you OS experts confirm what I've found?
    Thanks guys.

Gotta love a good OS mug!
I'll leave it to the Old Spice experts to chime in - all my 'knowledge' comes from here for pottery mugs and here for glass mugs.

Any idea on date of these bottles? The cap is plastic screw on and there is raised wording on both sides and the bottom of the bottle.

That is indeed a type one glass mug. Not to be confused with a type one pottery mug.

Sorry no idea as far as an accurate dating is concerned :(

Edit: I found one reference to that if the product is part of the Clubman line it will have the word "Clubman" on the label if it's 1938 or later - before that it will not say Clubman

Edit II: The above seems to pertain to the introduction of the Clubman line. So, if it says "Clubman" on a label it means it is from after 1938 - but if it doesn't say Clubman on it it doesn't necessarily mean that it's pre-1938.

So, I hope I made that as confusing as possible :D

Thank you. I figured with the plastic cap, instead of cork, it would be a newer bottle. But there is no mention of Clubman anywhere! Not on the labels, front or back.

In raised glass on the side it says "ED. PINAUD PARIS" and the other side has some french words and his signature.

And the bottom of the bottle says "BOTTLE PROPERTY OF PINAUD INC. NEW YORK REC."

I figured @Bird Lives would be interested in the Veg' bottle.

I'd be a happy camper if I stumbled across a vintage "Veg" bottle in the wild. The guys selling them on the net all seem to know we're willing to pay silly amounts of money to aquire one.

I won't tell you about the $8 price tag on it and the 20% off booth I found it in then.

It was a very cartridge-themed week....

Received all these this week and I must admit I am super excited to go through them all! :)

Left to right: Atra, Atra Elite, unknown, Atra DeLuxe, Evelyn and Crabtree, Truefitt & Hill
All razors are in very nice condition - one or two needs a cleaning - and the total cost was approx $70 for them all
It's not often you receive a bunch of razors and every one of them lives up to the description and photos :)
For die-hard cartridge handle-lovers here are all the handles one by one:

    1) Gillette Atra (Plus?). Fit: Atra
    [IMG]
    2) Gillette Atra Elite. Fit: Atra
    [IMG]
    3) Unknown. Fit: Trac II?
    No name on front:
    ..or back:
    4) Atra DeLuxe. Fit: Atra
Great feeling handle and this guy has some serious weight to him as well. Instant favorite.
I dub it the "Darwin" of cartridge handles. Ok come on.....humour me.....
    (Darwin DE razor):
    5) Evelyn and Crabtree. Fit: Mach 3
    [IMG]
    6) Truefitt & Hill. Fit: Mach 3
    [IMG]

    ...and...a pack of cartridges :D

I'd like to think my 2 Clubman items are travelling through the Berkshires at this time as they make their way to me, but I wouldn't put it past my nephew(a true freshman at U. of Rochester)to say STOP THAT TRUCK, so he could vouch that yes, in fact, they do belong to his uncle :)
