    October 17

    Razor - Gillette 1947 Superspeed
    Blade - [IMG] (1)
Brush - Vie Long 12601 The Pony
    Soap - Tabac
Post - Cold water, Alum, The Veg

Greetings from the center of Kansas. Had to take an unplanned overnight drive to help with my mother today. She needed to move to a different home and was giving my sister fits about everything, so the perfect son drove out to keep her entertained and help her settle in. My mother is 85 years old and has survived two rounds of breast cancer. Her mind isn't the best anymore and she and my sister butt heads a lot mostly due to Mom's refusal to go quietly into retirement and stop trying to be independent. But, she will probably still out live me and maybe everyone else too. She's like her mother, my grandmother.......can you say stubborn? May explain my attitude sometimes too. And speaking of stubborn, on to the next TREET!

Glad to see @Bama Samurai using a Treet for solidarity, but the next blade up is one I've used before and never had a problem with. It's a Platinum blade so shouldn't be a problem getting three shaves. Kind of a break between carbons that the shaving gods granted me. The razor is my '47 Superspeed that was replated by Chris at razorplate.com. Beautiful job. It is the first vintage I ever purchased. I'll get a pic up of it when I get home. I'm using my sister's computer and can get to existing pics through the cloud, but I want to take a new one. I threw in the Pony along with the BoS and also have MWF along for tomorrow's shave. Didn't want to get out of rotation just over a quick weekend trip.

The water here is soft due to my sister's water softener so the Tabac exploded into great lather for me. The Super Speed and Treet really gave a great smooth shave. Three passes, WTB, XTG, ATG and a bit of G slide to a near BBS finish. The spot under my chin where the Falcon chewed me up was a bit of a trick but all is good. No issues other than some extra alum burn there. Overall the alum was quiet, though the Veg had a bite. And, my mother was quite impressed with the Veg. Said I smelled very good. It reminded her of my grandfather which makes me wonder if it's just the old timey scent or if perhaps he used the Veg at one point. Well at least it brought back a good memory for her.

I'll be checking my phone and probably confiscate the computer for a bit later. Don't want you all to get too far ahead of me on here! Hope your weekend is going great!

Razor: Gillette Black Tip (X3) 1952
    Blade: Voskhod Teflon Coated (5)
    Brush: Omega 10066 Boar
    Soap: KnockOut Shave Cool Blue
    A/S: Fine Platinum

I don't see many using KnockOut shave soap on this forum, I do believe that it is a great shave soap. Very slick with a nice cooling feature. The Voskhod Teflon blade did not perform well tonight. I may have to change it tomorrow. Three passes tonight for a DFS. Fine Platinum is a great A/S.

    Gillette New LC
    Feather blade (3)
    Kent BK4 silvertip brush
    Trumper's Coconut cream
    Two passes
Thayer's Lavender witch hazel, unrefined shea butter, and Fine L'Orange Noir

I skipped yesterday, so I was really looking forward to this morning's shave. First pass was WTG, and the second pass was XTG on my face and ATG on my neck. I got as close to BBS as I ever get, and it was very comfortable as well. I finished with Fine L'Orange aftershave, and it is a winner.

On this beautiful October day, my Bride and I enjoyed a lunch and afternoon theater date. Enjoy your weekend!

    it's a brand name.
I ran across it at a small grocery store. they had three varieties one brown, one blue, one green. I'm sure they are knockoffs of other mainstream products.
    I liked the spice smell.
someone said that this is what skin bracer originally smelled like.
it reminds me a little like ginger.
it only cost a whopping 1.79.

    Dove Men Face Wash
    TOBS Grapefruit
    Bethlehem Olivewood ST
    Gillette President
    Personna SS
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Lemon WH
    Pinaud Vegetal

The TOBS Grapefruit Shaving Cream face-lathered well with my Bethlehem Olivewood ST brush. Two passes with my Gillette President razor and a Personna SS blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Pinaud Vegetal as an after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Those are two nice setups. Cool to think an effective shave can be had without a bunch of other pre/post frills. Unless of course you just didnt include them in the photo's. In that case I take everything I said back...

Still sticking with L'Occitane Cade. The Omega 10049 works great with anything. Switched to a Progress today and used a Dorco ST-301 blade for the first time. I was surprised how smooth that blade is. Used Clubman Vanilla for the finish.

    Hi Friends

here my Shave of the Day:

Soap: Fitjar Fjelheim Shaving Cream // Brush: Plisson Synthetic // Razor: Gillette Fat Handle Tech // Blade: Gillette Bleue Extra // Aftershave: Pino Silvestre

The Fitjar is an absolut outstanding Cream. Very easy to lather with tons of cushion and slickness. IMHO the most slick shaving soap / cream i used yet. Amazing. Paired with the Pino Silvestre Aftershave i´m smelling like a Pine / Fir Wood on a crisp, clear, sunny Morning!!! Exact what i love. Couldn´t be happier at the moment.

Have a nice day. Take care.

    Greetings
    Thorsten

    Victory Shave!
What a great finish to the Spartan's victory last night! To celebrate #victoryforMSU I used my new favorite brush: Brothers Bristles Spartan Bronze. I also used GreenShave eucalyptus soap as a pre shave and it worked great, since it is loaded with shea butter. BBSB made excellent lather from Maggard's Limes and Bergamot, setting up my stubble for its fate at the hands of der Futur. This razor is now my favorite because it usually gives me an effortless BBS with little or no drama. Today was no exception. I finished up with PAA LGTT for a cool and smooth feeling.
    Prep: GreenShave
    Soap: Maggard's Limes and Bergamot
    Brush: Brothers Bristles Spartan Bronze
    Razor: der Futur
    Blade: Personna Lab Blue
AS: PAA Lime, Ginger, Tea Tree

Mastro Livi Blue Tongue Damasteel, 7/8 Full Hollow, Livi Point

This is my very first Mastro Livi straight razor, the one who started my passion for the art and work of this incredible Italian craftsman and artist living in Perugia (Umbria), not so far from my place. I bought this razor two years and a half ago and, since then, I have never honed it, not even refreshed the edge with chromium oxide paste, just used Mastro Livi loom strop and hand palm. It shaves like the very first time and provides an absolutely incredible and super smooth shave. Not just this razor let me personally met a magnificent and talented artist as well as a wise and remarkable man - who then became a dear friend - but also for the fact it is made of Blue Tongue Damasteel, a pattern now discontinued which I find just beautiful. An incredible and stunning straight razor, an awesome and superb shaver!
