October 17 Gillette New LC Feather blade (3) Kent BK4 silvertip brush Trumper's Coconut cream Two passes Thayer's Lavender witch hazel, unrefined shea butter, and Fine L'Orange Noir I skipped yesterday, so I was really looking forward to this morning's shave. First pass was WTG, and the second pass was XTG on my face and ATG on my neck. I got as close to BBS as I ever get, and it was very comfortable as well. I finished with Fine L'Orange aftershave, and it is a winner. On this beautiful October day, my Bride and I enjoyed a lunch and afternoon theater date. Enjoy your weekend!
My package took a strange route to me. Spain-Germany- Switzerland-New York-California. 15 days, well worth the wait.
OCTOBER FOCUS - OLD TYPES Three shaves in with the late 20's Old Type after using my Single Ring. I still think these are completely different razors. (I know, I know they're both Old Types.). But, where the SR feels light and maneuverable, the later OT feels heavier and clumsier. That being said it only took three shaves to get a sweet BBS with the "younger" OT.
I agree about KnockOut Shave soaps! I have two and love them, Cotton is my favorite and in my top five.
Hello Vince. After using it exclusively for a few weeks, I can say that the New LC is my favorite razor. Finding the right angle is very intuitive, and it consistently provides a great two-pass shave. It's the perfect travel razor due to its small size. I think it will shave even better with a slightly heavier handle, and I plan to try that next. I picked up a New SC, and I plan to do a focus with it at some point. It will be interesting to see how these two razors compare. When you sold the New LC to me for $250 plus $50 for shipping and handling, I thought it was a little expensive. I should have my final payment to you in another week, and it will be great to stop getting all those calls from the collection agency. You've been trying out a lot of OC razors this month. Which one has been your favorite so far, and why?
Hand strop that and it should work fine, especially with the pre-shave oil. Gotta be better than a Flying Eagle.
I normally wouldn't quote myself but I just realized that I'm 7 hours since my early afternoon shave and I think I'd still pass the "cotton test". My face is as smooth as when I left the house. Wow.
I am in a trip visiting my daughters in San Diego. I brought my thirty day focus razor and the next blade in my rotation with me. Today was my first day with the Gillette Platinum. This blade was exceptionally smooth for a first pass on day one. I got a very nice two pass shave with it. Not quite BBS but it's not the blades fault. I was in a hurry and didn't do my usual cleanup pass. SOTD Arko stick AoS badger brush Gillette Platinum (1) EJ DE89 Have a great weekend!
If you only knew. It takes me at best 1.5 hours to go 18 miles for the morning commute. I hate Atlanta traffic.
Thank you my friend. I liked the brush from the beginning but this focus has really opened my eyes to how well it works for me. I am truly grateful for the PIF and will continue to use it on a regular basis. Plus it even whips up Mystic Water shave soap.
