Auto correct is killing me...or Bama public schools. Or maybe it was weak technique, improper pressure, or a bad blade angle...
I had to clean up white wine that was spit across the room when I read this to her. She almost literally hit the floor from laughing. She did have to admit she loves me clean shaved and smelling good so she allows me a little time with my hobby and with you guys!
I would love a phoenix DOC but although I have received a good offer of one for sale I just cant afford it I my current situation. There was an offer for a straight that I might take because its only the cost of a missed lunch.
Decided to change it up a little tonight so I could check my technique with something beside my SS. Used my Parker 71R. I got a decent shave, but had some pretty good irritation. It also seems draggy at every blade angle. And this was with a blade I loved in the SS. I used a Shave Den lanolin soap that I received from Charlie, and I must say, it's probably my favorite soap I've ever used. I can't wait to get another scent. I used a personna red blade. Everything else remained the same. It was a decent shave, but something about that razor just throws me off. I can't put my finger on it.
I have tryed to post about my shave several times tonight but this phone just refuses to stay logged in and then it pops up error messages and deletes my draft before I can post so I'm going to try a different phone.
One more time. I had to rush my shave a bit today because my first day back after my legal difficulties I was called in 6 hours early for a 14 hour shift. I grabbed the Arko and my fiance's razorock plissoft brush and lathered up a typical arko lather, amazing. The brush was bigger then I like but it had a very nice feel especially for such an inexpensive brush. I understand why my wife-to-be wants 2 more as backups. I am back to my focus with the triangle guard ballend tech. I loaded up a personna red and shaved a quick 2 pass with no touchups and only mild buffing along the goatee area. Neck was a g-slide on the 2nd pass. First pass was XTG 2nd ATG. Thank you to @NCoxSTL for using the g-slide enough to make me look it up. My neck shaves are much cleaner with less effort and less irritation now that I have started this technique. I was surprised that I wasn't eatten alive by this razor like I usually am. I believe that it is too mild for me and I end up making more passes then my face can handle trying to get the results my other razors give me in easily. I am excited to try the personna med blues now that I know decent shaves can be had with this razor. I've always had slightly better results with the med blues then the reds. I will end with a question, I have yet to decide what blade to end my mini tech focus with. I have decided against the med prep as it is to me identical feeling on my face to the med blue. I have nearly every blade sold in the tryablade super sampler and was hoping for suggestions. What blades work well in mild razors for all of you but are less well known. I could try a feather but what's the fun of that? I am out of Kai blades which tend to be my favorite in all my razors.
