Well in a mild razor I prefer a sharper blade usually. Feather (yeah I know no fun), Kai which I really like and Voskhod. I will say that the Treet Platinum works well in milder razors as well. Also Ladas is good. Oh.....Bic Chrome Platinum. If you have one of those give it a try. Great blade and works well in milder razors.

Glad you discovered the Gillette Slide. It's definitely not recommended for brand new newbies but once technique is solid overall I highly recommend it for those hard to finish areas. My neck is my most difficult area largely due to a pretty wild growth pattern. I use the slide pretty much everyday on my neck as a finishing pass. Saves a lot of touch up work and a lot of irritation. My experience anyway.

Monotonous? Eye patch time. Destroy your ability to perceive depth and shave by candlelight, using only your non-dominant hand. Game?;)

I have tried ladas(good blade worked well) voskhod(ouch) feather(not in this razor but it hasn't worked for me yet) Kai ( my favorite all around blade) I have a bic blade yellow paper with bic printed all over?

One name on the list of contenders.

I missed the treet platinum. I don't think I have used a treet blade yet.

Two names in the list of contenders.

Love GSB in most of my razors don't know if I have a new one left. I think my last one is in my old type.

I say give the Bic a try. @Jasman recommended it to me and I love it. Came in second in the tournament of blades, for whatever that's worth. Basically it was the best non-Russian blade I used that month. Even took out the Kia.

I used one after seeing your daily post on it. I found it to be a very nice shave. I think I still have a couple, will revisit soon!

If it's razor enough to take out a kia then I might have to try it. :bounce015:

I may end up having to when I get home. I'm pretty sure the list is still in the 90s on different blades. I have no more then 5 or 10 of anything and most of what I have I only have one.

I bought two tucks after trying it. I think it's the only non russian I've ever bought in that quantity.

    Gillette NEW LC
    Vulfix Super Badger (660)
    Proraso Sandalwood cream
    Aqua Velva Ice Blue

Shave #3 with the Gillette Silver Blue in my New LC.
Face lather and 2 full passes: Pass 1 XTG. Great reduction. Pass 2: ATG. Very nice, a DFS. A cold water rinse followed by some minor touch up and I was pretty sure I had a BBS. Aqua Velva had some bite today, but settled down soon enough.

A very comfortable BBS from the Gillette Silver Blue in my New LC. The area I went over a bit more than my skin liked yesterday was a little sensitive, but didn't really complain. I treated it lightly and it feels OK now that the Aqua Velva has dried.

In honor of @clint64 ...Looks like you probably getting deadly with the stick...I remember discovering shave sticks...
I was spending the Summer in South-Side Turkey on the Med. And my wife picked up an Arko Stick at the store and left it on the sink in my shave cave...I immediately upon finding it, ripped the end off and discovered how much I loved it...
Also I found, the first time I soaked my whiskers in hot water, and soaked the stick in hot water and started applying it in tight little circles on my whiskers, That......for the first time....I could really see the direction my whiskers grew in...What an eye opener....Wasn't what I thought, and armed with that info really :git:Rocked my shaving World...:happy088:

A couple weeks later I went to get a hair cut and watched the Turkish Barbers lathering technique....Coooool...
Those cats, do the hot whisker rinse and hot steamy towel, and then hit your face with a hot wet Arko stick and apply it in tight little circles all over your beard like I was doing, while they chat....and then I realied, they kept applying the stick for over a minute...I mean, they seriously put some soap product onto your beard...Every hair not only has a ball of soap hanging, but they keep applying....then when they hit that with a hot wet brush....BOOM!!! Lather Explosion!!! News worthy Lather Bomba!....

No wonder those guys are famous for their shaving prowess...with that thick and rich a lather, you can't get cut by those Shavettes...your face is so protected and slippery.....its blade proof....lol

Of course in the following years I watched many Turkish Barbers and they all seem to have the same Mad Dog Arko approach....I dig it....I implemented it into my regime aswell...One day I invision someone opening the door to my shave cave and I come flowing out on an ocean of lather like something from a Chaplin movie....roflol!

I haven't had a chance to hang in the last couple days or shave....:shocked003:
So in the wee hours of Thursday morning, I just saw my face in the Shave Cave mirror...I had a Robinson Crusoe thing happening...Immediately cranked the hot water and got to business,!

    Hot Whisker Rinse
    Arko/Omega 10029
    1955 Schick-Eversharp Hydro-magic
    Longs Drugs/Personna d1
    Kroger Witch Hazel
    Clubman Original/Aqua Velva Ice Blue

this has been my reputed Favorite Razor...my Highlander razor if you will for many, many years... for many different reasons on many different levels...Some of which we will talk about another time....

Test Question: now this razor is my favorite of the "mild" type razors...Now why is it....that when I have missed a few days shaves, and am sporting wiry whiskers that this famous milder incarnation of the injector breed can give me such a great one pass BBS....?

Very cool story. I have had shaves from a barber but they used the soap and mug not a shave stick.
