I learned this morning that with the MANLY scent of this new Suave product I have (Heritage Edition for Men, Body Wash and Shampoo), it's tricky to decide on a shave cream and AS that is about the same scent.

I learned that while Rise Super Foam doesn't have quite the scent of the 1950's Rise's, it still is great for "seeping moisture into your beard", as did the early ones.

Some weeks again after using Saponoficio Varesino I realised that soaps that were usually slick weren't any more.
I'm having the same problem again. I can't get any slickness from my soaps. Again in started again after using Saponoficio Varesino.
Maybe me and this soap should part ways.

Are you using something new? Brush maybe? Maybe you just need to figure out the water ratio again

I learned that while it was great to apply Bay Rum(Stephan), my shave itself could have been better. I'm beginning to think my Rise Super Foam may be better than Barbasol(I used the latter today in combo with the Bay Rum). More experimentation needed on this.

    NCoxSTL AAACK!

When a shave becomes so automatic you stop thinking about it you can bleed. Check the tightness of a three piece before starting. They bite!

I've definitely learned that I have a lot more patience than I thought and that DE shaving is a good way to relax and clear your mind from a hard day. Wish I would have switched to this 20 years ago......might not be divorced right now

I learned that overly complicated and intricate approaches to shaving are generally less effective and more expensive. Or put another way, that this:

The simplest solution is usually the best (sometimes called Occam's Razor)

    Is more effective than this:
Sometimes ending one journey so another journey can be started is the most important part of one's travels in life.

As I await my Clubman Hair Gel order(maybe it'll come today, but no hurry), I learned the art of "squeeze a little out, rub in hands, apply on face&neck" with my Rise Cooling Balm After-shave. With previous Clubmen Hair gels, I would take more than enough out at a time, and apply it with my fingers, which puts more gel in some areas and not nearly enough in others. So, thank you Rise for showing me how to better work my Clubman!

I learned that I'm not a fan of VDH soap, no pressure goes a long way, and Personna Lab Blue blades seem to do great going ATG on my neck. Which is a danger zone for me.

I like my 37c much better with 3 shims added. But it's still no better than my wide open adjustables, and the shims are more work, so I don't use it much.

I'm learning to get the most of the WTG pass on my face. I can shave my taint ATG with a scalpel, but my cheeks, not so much.

Shaving around the beard is not very captivating. This is the first time in my life I've really missed a full shave every morning.

I learned that I like longer handles. The 39c is very comfortable to hold. I didn't think it was all that aggressive at all...but definitely more efficient. Also learned that my technique needed a lot of work and made a lot of corrections today. Great shave tonight!
