Razor: Gillette Red Tip (A3) 1955 Blade: Gillette Platinum (3) Brush: Whipped Dog Silver Tip w/ Black/White Marble Handle 22/65 Soap: Crabtree & Evelyn Indian Sandalwood A/S: Captain's Choice Sandalwood Day 22 Not a very good shave today. The Whipped Dog brush is to floppy, and does not suit me. Thanks goodness for a great razor, or this wouldn't have made through the shave. Had to change brushes after 2 passes. That is life.

October 22 New LC head on Mongoose "Dr. Bomber" handle Feather (1) Semogue 830 Trumper's Coconut Two passes Thayer's Lavender witch hazel, unrefined shea butter, CC Bay Rum Following a strict scientific method, I only changed three variables in my set-up today: handle, brush, and aftershave. Rest assured, though, I remained steadfast in blade choice and didn't fall victim to a tuggy, oxidized, reverberation-prone off-brand. Armed with fine platinum-coated and precisely-edged shaving steel, the New LC plowed through two days of growth to yield a near-BBS shave. A baby's skin feels like sandpaper compared to my face in all its smooth, rugged handsomeness. Even 12 hours later, my fingers glide effortlessly along my strong jawline as I ponder deep thoughts. The SS handle obviously feels different than the ball-end handle. I'll give it a few shaves to see which one I prefer on the New LC head. Did I say that I used America's favorite blade today, endorsed by the Dallas Cowboys and the International House of Pancakes? I was pleasantly surprised with the maiden voyage of the Semogue boar brush. It has a ton of backbone, yet the tips are buttery soft. It will be interesting to see how it breaks in. I hope it develops all those crazy hairs like I see on other Semogue brushes. Speaking of crazy, a guy would be nuts to trust his face - literally his gift to mankind - to anything other than a blade made from Samurai steel. And, oh my, these wonderful Feather blades... Right out of the wrapper, a new blade reflects the light in the den like the St. Louis Arch reflects the noon-day sun! As the Arch is the Gateway to the West, Feathers are the Gateway to Baby Smoothness! They laugh at blade reverberation under adverse lather conditions. And in the hands of an expert, a master even, they take flight through stubble like an eagle soars mightily over the mountains. They will transform Paul Bunyan into Paul Newman in a New York minute! The CC Bay Rum was a nice finish and a great start to my day. For a little variety, I plan to use Arko tomorrow. I might go with a Feather blade, as I've heard some good things about them. Who knows, I might like them! But everything else stays the same. After all, this shaving thing is serious business.

Clint, just saw the work you do on those 400's.. I'm blown away. Edit: I immediately get on eBay to look. With pure shock and frown, eBay was no longer pulled up.
They are beautiful. Went too look into buying one a few minutes ago. Then I realized I didn't win the lottery and got off eBay.
Oh my... Where do I even start gents. Face wash, AJ Murrays pre shave oil Personna Red Phoenix DOC Razor WD 24mm Silvertip Shave Den Sensitive Lanolin Thayers WH & The body shop razor relief This.. This is the first shave I could ever truly declare DFS++ on. A slight touch of clean up and I would've had the baby. The irritation is non existent. The razor is mild, and frighteningly efficient. The lather provided fantastic protection. This is the only razor comfortable enough to buffer with for me. I have one more razor to try in my collection in November. I'm waiting to break it out. But so far, this Phoenix is the best shave I've ever gotten. Super happy with tonight's shave

October- I lost my focus... I've really enjoyed my Old Types this month. But I'm getting consistently great shaves. I think I heard someone earlier say they were getting bored. Me two, sort of. The pics you guys have put up here really have looked great and made me jealous. So I've switched to another OC that hasn't been used much. My New Standard. A little RazoRock Don Marco and some Clubman AS and I'm set!
