Speaking of possible NOS. I ordered some Personna Israeli reds. Weird thing is they say made in the USA on the blades . I have read many of the forums trying to make sense of the Personna company. But this is a new one to me. A undercover American blue in a Israeli red box. I almost want to avoid using them for fear that I will like them and not know what it is I am using . If I reorder the same thing as before , it may not be the right blade in the same box.
Is the Lord / Shark / Big Ben line just as confusing?

Small update... as of this morning, the "super speed dispenser" blades that I got are good for just two shaves. YMMV, of course.

If you use this link http://dorcousa.refr.cc/KSGVMXB you get 20% off and I get 5% back (which I have set up to go to Susan B. Komen Fund). Expires end of Sept.

Thanks to a trade with @NapalmCola, I've been testing the new Dorc(o) blades for the last two weeks. For me -- YMMV -- they're an "OK" blade. They're much more comfortable than the original Dorcos, but they'll never replace my Astra SPs; doubly so since I can get only 3 good shaves out of the Dorcos.

    Hi rich,
Well, I'm glad they were not any worse than the ST-300's. For me I find them slightly better than ok. I would say good. Not because there so incredibly close but that they are close enough and so dang forgiving for me. I have just received a new shipment from tray a blade and have a tuck of 10 Dorco Primes. If you'd like to give em a try I can send ya a few.

I do have to agree , they do the trick but there no Voshkod. ( my favorite blade so far) But there easily available and cheap for me.

    Hi Justin,
Just wondering, which Dorco ? ST-300, ST-301 or the new Prime ?

Thanks! Very generous of you, but I'll pass for now. I've found my "sweetheart" and won't stray. :love029::happy097:

    ST-301. I don't remember much of the 300. It's been a while since I've used it.

I wonder how close the Dorco's are to any of Personna Reds, Crystals or Astra SP's

YMMV as with all things shaving. You really have to try them yourself to determine which works best for you.

For me the ST-301 is an improvement over the ST-300. I did try the Prime for the first time this morning. In my PAA DOC, not much difference than the ST-301 that I could tell. Then again it was in two different razors and I need to give the Prime some more time to get used to.

If your interested I can send you a few ST-300 and Primes and you can see YMMV results . Just shot me a pm if interested.

    Hi Tallships,
For me there not as sharp as the PR's or Crystals. These are two of my favorite blades. I also love my Voshkods. I believe I am one of the few who doesn't do well with the Astra line. While the SP is better than the SS for me. It depends on which razor I use them in as to how well the perform for me. I rather have blades that do well in all razors and great in most of the ones I own.

If your interested I can send you a few and you can test them out. Just PM me and I will get them to you.

To my knowledge there isn't a blades sub-forum here bit I for one would vote to have one.....if any mods are listening. :)
As for the Dorcos I have a few in my collection but have never tried one. I have the new 301 style wrapper but also have a couple of 300's too. Maybe I'll give them a go in the near future.

I would also vote for a blades sub-forum. But it may require I lot of work and I'm not sure if it would add to the task by having to go back an pull out the old coments.

But back to the blades. You have tried the ST 300 and the 301's. Have you tried the Primes ? They are the newest ones. I used them yesterday and this morning for the first time (s). I am having a hard time telling the difference between them and the ST 301's. But I am using different razors. I didn't have any OC razors when I first started and only had the Dorco blades I can get locally. So I will have to wait until OCtober is over to compare them equally.

I haven't tried the Dorcos, just have them in my blade box. I'll add the Primes to the mix too when I try them. Have to try them all or it isn't a complete experience!

I agree about trying all in line. I have what seems to be over a hundred tucks of blades. And a big dent is due to only four brands. Lord, Treet, Rapira and of course Gillette . I'm sure most have as many ,but I haven't been traditional shaving very long. I really like try a blade and Maggard Razors. Between the two there's a whole lot of blades to try .

At last count I was around 860 blades, give or take. I inventory them monthly and it's about due again. Heavy on the Russians - Voskhod and the other Rapiras plus Sharp Star. And yes, tryablade.com is a regular recipient of my money!

I haven't thought to count the individual blades. That would make the amount sound like I had a serious blade acquisition disorder. Or as the outsiders who don't understand us would say, seriously looney.
