    Sorry to hear that! Why are some people so conceited that they don't see the obvious and/or listen to reason? I hope he'll shape up!

  4. Quit my job after seeing some illegal and immoral things at the nursing home. I'll be filing a DSS report as well. Now to find a new job that pays as much or more.
  5. Maybe you should try a movie easier to relate to ....

  8. I couldn't have done it at a worse time, custody fight and divorce plus holiday time. I'll probably pick up 2 minimum wage jobs and deal with it for awhile until something better comes up.
  9. Oops! Be strong, my friend! something better will come up! Good wishes heading your way!

  10. Last Saturday my son & friends had a halloween party at our place. I know, a week early, but next weekend a lot of them had other things to do. It's just another excuse to come together, have fun and, in this case, dress up. SWMBO and me chose to be Morticia and Gomez Addams. My son was the scaringly rich Tony Stark. Amongst others we had a blood fountain (chocolate fountain with cherry sauce in stead of chocolate), Cheese 'n' brain (mascarpone and walnuts), pumpkin soup with cinnamon and we had a bowl of tonic (which turns blue under black light!).

    The plan was to watch Corpse Bride and Insidious, but we had too much fun to be silent and watch them. In short: great night!

  11. Looks like fun & you all look terrific (and your son looks manly & handsome.)

    BTW, I was at a rest stop convenience store when I saw some socks I couldn't resist;

    "To shave, or not to shave;
    What a stupid question!"
  13. Our church had its annual Trunk-or -Treat party last night, and I must say I'm disappointed in both the quality and quantity of the candy my daughter snagged. She has another Trunk-or-Treat at school Friday, and if she doesn't step it up, I may have to look into hiring professionals next year.

    God bless you and your family.

    "I" before "e" except after "c" - unless you're pulling a weird heist on a feisty beige foreign neighbor.

    And, technically, "Ain't got no rules" means "we have rules."

    Or "Yup."

  15. While riding to dinner last night with a church search committee (for an associate pastor position I would love), I received a phone call from another search committee (for a senior pastor position I would love). The first would give me the chance to work with a great senior pastor in an active small city. The other would allow me to lead a wonderful church in a beautiful small town mountain setting. Please pray for me and Linda as we deal with this "embarrassment of riches."
