Some people have troubles handling them for multiuse because the rust if not dried. You might want to try the Blue Star.
October 24, 2015 OC October - This month I'll introduce myself to OC razors. Gillette New LC Schick Type C1 OC Standard Safety Razor OC Gillette Goodwill Morning shave Hot Shower Scuttle: Georgetown Pottery G12 Soap: Nancy Boy - Signature Shave Cream Brush: Brush: Omega Pro 48 Razor: Gillette New LC Blade: Feather (1) TSD Witch Hazel Aftershave: Old Spice Gearing up for No Variation November so I decided to do some experimentation with new products and get that out of my system for now. Extremely surprised - one of the smoothest, efficient and automatic shaves that I’ve had in my 6 months of wetshaving. Two-pass shave. Observations: Damp, cold weather has started to move into Seattle. I’ll appreciate using the scuttle for the next 5 - 6 months! Warm lather…mmmmmm. Never thought I’d use a product called Nancy Boy. (“Not that there’s anything wrong with that.”) OMG - exquisite lather! Along that same line…I don’t know if it’s because of his influential songwriting skills or what, but I pulled out a Feather blade for my very first time. Oh my, oh my! @wristwatchb With my favorite razor to date, I just slipped right into the sweet spot and more than once, checked to see if I even had a blade in the razor. That smooth. Good reduction on the 1st pass (XTG) and a clean pass (ATG) with nary a touch-up. The word came to mind immediately after my shave - Effortless! Cheers! RT
Saturday, October 24, 2015 Gillette New LC with Common Bar Personna Med Prep #1 Doug Korn Aqua Marine Taca 2 Mystic Waters SS Jasmine Witch Hazel +++Menthol, Knockout Shave Balm Al's Private Stock Floid Blue Aftershave Today's shave was a two pass BBS with no nicks, no cuts, and no weepers. DK's Tassa 2 design with TGN High Mtn White had little difficulty churning up a healthy lather. The Shave Stick approach worked very well with Mystic Water Jasmine Soap. Reached into the "Vault Of Little Used Shave Products" and out came a vintage jar of Knockout Shave After Shave Balm Al's Private Stash. Yes, the old time Barber Shoppe Scent is still wonderful. Finished a little later with a generous spritz of Floid Blue. Have a great Saturday!
It's a scuttle from Georgetown Pottery in Maine. georgetownpottery.com I got mine second hand from a seller here on TSD. If you like warm lather, check them out!

This birthday the kids surprised me with two lovely shaving soaps (by Taconic and by Parker ), a horn lather bowl, and a eucalyptus aftershave (Peary & Henson). A whole new start-to-finish experience. I discovered the good quality soaps make a big difference in shave comfort. Smart kids. Adults, but they will always be our kids. The scents of eucalyptus, mint, and bay are gently refreshing - every day this month has been a pleasant shave. And because this is OC month I will get a Gillette opens comb from ePay to complement the very mild Weishi. Oh, and the new-old floral shaving mug from ePay. That hardly counts as RAD, does it? Better build another shelf in the bathroom
Happy birthday, great gifts from the kids. Do they need an uncle named Herm? BTW I think RAD status at 3 razors. LOL

back to it tomorrow got work to do and a few more open combs. tomorrow I'm gonna use a new standard that had it's handle badly cracked. today I did my best to refurbish it. how'd I do?
Missed you birthday, Doug. So belated greetings to you. Hope your kids got you some woodworking tools because if your like the rest of us you'll need to make more shelves for your Ad's.
The Gatlinburg is great. The performance is much the same as other Stirling soaps, so you almost can't got wrong. The scent is very much outdoors. I have the soap and AS, and they are a but different. I get more Cade in the soap and more cedar in the AS. I can tell you that stepping outside after a rain storm, the scent just seemed to fall into place. Thank you. It is a great shaver.
