Might not be very manly but I practiced painting the children for Halloween. Tomorrow I'll finish decorating the porch and carving the pumpkins. I'm out of work for moral reasons (I saw too many illegal and immoral things at the nursing home) so I'll start job hunting Monday again.
Grilled salmon, with flavoured and baked potatoes, and mixed sautered vegetables (carrots, broccoli, red and green sweet peppers, onions).
I might have misused the word "grilled"; I used a grill pan (cast iron) to quickly roast them. I used salmon fillets, sprinkled them with lemon juice and dill, and a pinch of freshly grounded pepper. Then I roasted them on the heated grill pan with a bit of olive oil. The fillets only need a few minutes on each side.
There is something simply primal about Plowing soil, there really is.. This 1/4 acre plot I cleared in the Spring of stumps, I planted Clover over the Summer, turned it all in prep of Winter, the Wife and I are "Discussing" what we are putting in there... I want a Fruit Orchard, she wants a Pumpkin patch Funny how every time I go out there to work the plot it seems to grow a bit too My Brain: "Hmmmmm ya know if we pull just that one stump out and push that little bit of slash back, I bet we could add another row"
I picked up some roofing nails from my father in law... But didn't get around to installing the vent stack flashing and resealing around the area. It leaks when it rains...
Shaved this morning with my 53 year old Gillette Slim set to 9 with a New Ripera SS blade....Then jumped on my 2003 Moto Guzzi LeMans and rode up to my favorite Cafe/Bike hang out for breakfast and later on there had a nice Honduran cigar and a coffee while I kicked tires and talked bikes. Came home and watched some football and had a nice Pasta dinner with my smoking hot wife. Winning!
I walked two miles, for the first time after my surgery. It was tougher than I thought (hoped) it would be. Four miles next Sunday!
Congratulations! Regaining mobility is not for the feint of heart. As for me, at 10 days post-surgery, my "manly" act was to be able to get through a night without using any narcotic pain meds.
