Here a look at the date code. Pretty sure it's a D3. Does anyone know if this model had a black ring below the dial? This one seems to have a bare brass ring that originally had a nice layer of verdigris I believe it is called.

It looks like you got a first year Executive. Very nice find!

Hmm...can you tell if it is black paint? Maybe I could repaint it some day if it is.

Thanks. I love the knurling on this thing! It is deep set and combined with the larger handle makes for a nice positive grip.

Here's my first shave with the Executive Fatboy. It was a pleasant shave with, of all things, a Derby blade! Pretty fun picking up something that looked like it was ready for the trash and seeing it restored to it former glory :) Thanks for the help all!

    Yes.
Check the ebay 'sold' prices on some of the gold FB Execs & I'd say he did okay for $38

Wow! That is enlightening. I thought they were gouging at asking $40.00 :)

    Third quarter '58, then. I believe Fat Boy's were produced from '58 (D) through '61 (G). I have a G3, and that is my birth quarter. :D
