Entertained? Like a crowd of Looky-Lous at the scene of an accident, you sir, will always keep us entertained!
I was the recipient of that PIF. While it isn't my favorite scent, I do like, and my kids do as well. The soap is fairly decent. I'll have to work it in the rotation shortly.
Ohh Yeah! And things like soaps, blades, and fragrances seem to have the highest YMMV Factors....}8^)>
Man...that Rapira does look like a Medieval torture device.....or.....Boss, I can make him talk! If you can't get him to talk with a Bass solo, threaten to shave him with this....
It's been a very unusually busy month...rehearsals, tomorrow a rehearsal, gig, Thurs. gig, Fri. rehearsal, gig....Not the norm.....But I've been keeping an eye on your shenanigans...tsk,tsk,tsk... And I'm still involved with serious scientific study and comparisons....to cut to the chase....I can't seem to mess-up the shave with this 1933 Schick Simplified Automatic Razor....No matter what I throw at it...it delivers the goods... I've always thought these Repeaters Rocked just on Coolness alone....Had no idea what great shavers they were aswell...I have no idea why they didn't win the Razor Wars, except it appears WWII is what stopped their production initially, and I guess cost of production stopped them from being reintroduced after the War.... But make no mistake...Schick was really on to something just about perfect in every way with this design!
Thanks Chris. It would have been helpful if I had shared that detail. We went on a two-week trip to Florida, so I had sticks of Arko and TSD lanolin unscented, as well as Trumper's Coconut cream. I rotated between all three, and each one lathered better for me on the trip. We saw the same thing with our shampoo, bath soap, and laundry soap. We even had to watch how much soap we used in the shower because the tub could become very slick. I'm convinced that soft water helps the quality and slickness of the shaving lather as well. If move to Florida, it won't be for the weather, beaches, and shrimp. It will be for the soft water.
SOTD October 27, 2015 Prep: Hot Shower. Axe Energizing Face Wash Boost Razor: Mongoose B3 Dr. Bomber Handle Blade: Feather Professional Lather: Arko w/M-Bomb Brush: RazoRock Plissoft Post: Thayers Cucumber WH. Gold Bond Ultimate Aftershave: Clubman Lilac Vegetal "The Veg" Nice shave. Pretty cold! I must say Arko is a great soap, Arko easily is a top 10 soap. The Veg Never let the things you WANT Make you forget the things you HAVE Go Mets!!
It is interesting about the soft water. Where I am we are classified as moderately soft to soft on the water. I pulled the last report we received from the water company. We also have a ph of 8 so it is not terrible either. I have no idea why Arko does not get slick for me other than just the YMMV aspect of everything. The water definitely gets along with Stirling Soap, Tabac, and Proraso! Cant wait to get my next order from Stirling! Hopefully soon!
So, you're dumping the Fat Boy and shaving with a disposable? IMO, I think each razor is capable of delivering a certain shave. Some razors are inherently better than others. As one's technique develops, he/she can take advantage of the benefits offered by the better razors and get a better shave. Because your technique is solid, you should keep the Fat Boy. I would argue that it will give you the best shave with the least amount of effort. You may get a BBS shave with a disposable, but my guess is that you can't do in two automatic passes. It might take three or even four passes.
For everyone who was trying to help me decide what to get on my birthday, I ended up just having to be content with the Phoenix DOC. Had to spend the rest on a jacket. I was 290 before I joined the military, and now that I'm 215 I'm having to buy a whole new wardrobe and I was definitely lacking a jacket. Thanks everyone for the suggestions though!!
I feel your pain. While I was I basic my drills had to take me to change out uniforms twice because I went from 115 up to 180. Had to go down a size on the pants and up 2 sizes on the tops.
looking good. I have since gone towards fat. I am 60% disabled from my time in the army and have lost 2 inches of height. I was hurting for close to 2 years when I got out so I gained 20 lbs and 6 inches on the waistline. I am feeling better now but I cant seem to push much farther in my workout without feeling the old injuries. I bicycle about 10miles 5 or 6 days a week and do some moderate calisthenics. My fiance is happy with how I look so I stopped trying to do better.
I heard that! My fiancé wishes I had more meat on me. The biggest problem of losing weight is just buying clothes. Haha. I just wanna buy shaving gear.
