The bowl works great. It builds lather really quickly. The bowl has some texture to it. I think that helps along with the ribs. I actually just glued the knot in this afternoon. It is a WD Synthetic. I will wait to use the brush when I start the challenge.
Great Tom...."welcome to the sharp side" as one of my best SE buddys, Rocket Man likes to say....And the ER 1912 is one of my favorites...a beauty to look at and shave with...and has great balence and weight...You've got you a winner right there.... One of the prettiest shavers ever! Looks like a Jaguar E-Type...That one could get a speeding ticket sitting still...I hope you love it... Guess you are excited...I am too...Doesn't look grungy at all...You'll get this one looking fantastic in no time! And those silver ones are easy to get shiney! Keep us up to speed on your progress and shave report... Congratulations my friend...What a find!!! That looks like one of a kind to me....You deserve it! Sorry to hear of your painfull afternoon..Been there, no fun...But you're spot on about a great injector shave can pick up your spirits... Whoa! Karl you're killing me man....You are copping some gorgeous stuff...If I were you I wouldn't know what to shave with next...ha,ha...Congratulations...That Exec looks fantastic!
Todays shave was a return of a favorite... I think everyone should have at least one Ever Ready 1914 Little Lather Catcher...I have several razors that I love dearly but none more that this Wild Child....The 1914 is so responsive and loud aswell as you can feel each whisker cut with vibrations in through the handle...Its a bit daunting at first...But once you get used to it...It's a real Blast from the Past !
Day 3 with the Personna Executive. A very subtle shaver. You really need to have just the right amount of pressure and there is little margin of error on the angle. The good news is it's really hard to cut yourself with this razor so the penalty for missing the angle is more time touching up the missed whiskers. I had limited touch up to do today as I used more pressure and paid greater attention to keeping the angle very close to flat. Even with pressure I only managed two tiny, tiny cuts. Canadian Schick Type E ... Three Pass Shaving Routine... Hot Water prep & massage with Coconut Oil Canadian Schick Type E Injector Chinese Schick Injector Blade 2 Semogue Boar Brush Wars Classic Shaving Cream (added Argan oil) Organic Aloe Vera Gel Logona Mann Aftershave Balm I just had the most wonderful closest ever all over BBS Result with this Canadian Beast Type E injector...She is a Beast that's for sure...To my knowledge this early Repeating Razor Company Black Handled Canadian Type E was the most aggressive Schick Injector ever made...Aggressive but ever so smooth & smooth...I used to be scared of this thing as it once gave me the Nastiest Cut Ever...This injector is almost unusable with a Personna Blade...Its just far too cold and aggressive...With the Chick blade its far more forgiving albeit still dangerous...This thing just shaves so close...It shaves closer than a PAL injector and that's saying a lot...It just shaves closer than close...Almost too close with 3 passes...I can get a BBS In most places with this beast in 2 passes, but I went for the Full Monty today....If you ever see one of these Beasties...Get it.... Billy...
Going to this Guy here for some Martial Arts Teaching on Saturday & Sunday..Went last year and felt his power..He is the real deal and has the "Full Monty"..I want the "Full Monty"... Billy...
Those are some very impressive testimonials on his site. But, I can't help wondering, "How well can he handle a PAL adjustable?" It looks like you are in for quite a weekend! Karl
HELP I HAVE RAD Just received another razor. I have been watching this thread. I fell in love with The Schick Repeating Razor. I had received an EBay gift card for my birthday and had $35 left. I saw this type B1 over the weekend and placed my max bid at $35. Had to wait and see if would hold up. It did I got it for $31. There were only a couple of pictures so it was a bit of a gamble. I think it will clean up fine. The first thing I did was to see if would cycle a blade. Sure enough it works. Any how here are a few before pictures. I will be cleaning this cool pice of iron up tonight. Cannot wait to see how it turns out. Looks and shave wise.
Yeah he is powerful..He is a serious sincere teacher and I like his teaching methods...He had folks collapsing & passing out the last time I went and said there wasn't enough folks working...Most folks cant deal with Real Traditional Martial Arts Training...Its not for the faint hearted...I am a Sadist so I am Fine... Billy...
That will come up well Sir...Just tarnished Silver Plating...Nice one...You may have to flatten the head against a wooden surface to tighten up the head to take a current injector blade cause they are thinner than the original ones... Billy..
Got all my gunk out of my B type and cleaned the internal delicate bits. I'm going to start polishing the rest of the razor after I have a beer. I really hope I can get it to load and cycle blades. I have some used ones for testing.
I have a little ultrasonic unit that I use with hot water and dish soap. I ran it for a bit last night and let the razor soak over night. Rinse and repeat until clean!
This is the cleaner / ultrasonic. $30 bucks on Amazon. Great little unit and I can clean my glasses and the wife's jewelry too!
