Aye that's great Sir...The blade can seem loose but that's fine in these...You may have to squeeze the head tighter on a flat wooden surface cause the original blades were thicker...Enjoy...;)

I'm going to give it a run this weekend for sure! I'll let you know how it shaves. Should be OK with a fresh blade in it. This thing is a real kicker for sure!

Well now she's cleaned up and loaded with fresh blades. Went with Chinese Shicks 1 in the razor and 4 more in the handle. What a beautiful little piece of engineering this is. I'm going to find out how it shaves tomorrow. Definitely will be different! image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg

Nice one...The shaving angle is steep on these like a straight and a bit different from a standard injector...The handle is almost parallel to the face...In other words sticking straight out...;)

I had to do the same with my B1. I used a butter knife and although not as precise it worked pretty well. I'm seeing this as a common problem from the ones Ive seen on the net, kind of like bent teeth on a OC.

Yes. It is only supported by that small square section. I think all it takes is to drop it and it gets bent.

You'll like it. Get the hang of the odd angle and you're in for a treat. Im might take a break from OC razors and try my new B1 this weekend as well.

I am waiting for my daughter to get out of the shave room. I like the sound of that better than bathroom. Then in I go for my first shave with mine. Very excited to give it a whirl.

Ok I just finished my first shave with my sir type 2. I used the Chinese Schick blades. Haslinger sandalwood soap and my AOS pure badger. I did a face lather this time.
First impression is the near 0 angle of the razor is kind of strange to start. A quick note I shave lefty. First pass WTG, Shaving my left side first I got very nice audible feedback when I had the correct angle. Right side was a bit more difficult to get that same feedback. Successfully finished first pass with no nicks at all.
Re lathered and started my second pass XTG. It went slightly better this pass especially on my neck I shave ear to nose both sides. It was a bit easier finding the correct angle. I got really good feedback entire pass this time. One very small weeper on my neck at my adams apple. I did a quick rinse to feel how the reduction was progressing. As good reduction as my DE razors but not as much as my Schick E2. I could have stopped here and it would be a CCS. But being things went so well so far and my face felt Zero irritation I opted for a third pass ATG.
This pass went just as smooth as the first pass with the same issue of getting my right side of my face on the S to N direction. No more nicks on this pass. I stopped there and did no touch up passes. Finished with what I would say is a CCS plus.
All in all this seems to be a very good razor. I would say it is not an aggressive razor but definitely not a m9ild one. My E2 is much more aggressive. I believe with some serious time on this razor it will deliver some great shaves. I did however expose some serious weakness in my technique. I will have to learn to shave with both hands. No not at the same time.:p I also believe with some practice on this I will be able to go ATG on my upper lip. The only razor I can do this with at this time is my E2.
As I am going to do NOV ember with an ER 1912 ( I have never tried an SE before) I will dedicate some serious time to my SRR in December.

Oh yah I finished off my shave with a nice cold rinse and some Brute AS. Nice and refreshing. Very pleased with this razor.

    Tom

We're traveling today so when I packed I grabbed a later type E2 for an easy shave today. Ah, I missed the E2. So easy and smooth. BUT, as I was shaving my wife wanted to discuss some plans for our teenage son. Yup, you guessed it, a few more nicks and weepers than usual - including an, "ouch!" at the Adam's apple. I think there is a lesson in there somewhere...
