two days left,I had two more open combs.
    I was supposed to use:
con/rad open comb razor. it has a brass plated head and a bakelite handle. it is a two piece razor. the handle is very light. 20151030_083014.jpg
but, sorry guys,I bailed. my hand felt uncooperative, so I went a different direction. I actually used the Berkeley Custom Shaver.
I'm to understand, that the con/rad is similar to a barbasol razor.

while I didn't use it today,I wanted to submit it anyway for the oc discussion.

Thank you Mark. Having another handle from Toby, I knew his workmanship is top notch. However, when I unwrapped this one, I was blown away by the attention to detail. I am sure you understand the feeling.

They are. They're just peculiar. This morning, Jeff had me use the same piece of tape over four times. :happy068:
I told him we're a Fortune 500 company. I think they can afford it.

That's OK David. You'll just have to use twice next year.

Just in time to close out OCtober, I had my first shave with my new lather catcher today. It's a beautiful 1902 Kampfe Star with the Y teeth for a comb. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and it gave a very smooth, great shave. :happy088:

    Brush: Omega Pro 48 Boar
    Razor: Gillette Goodwill
    Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (2)

Another great shave with this combo - not a Grand Slam but at least a double with the bases loaded to tie the game!

    World Series Game 3

Some great baseball teams have rallied back from trailing 2 - 0 in the WS to eventually win the Series. In fact, it’s only happened 11 times, and coincidently, two of those 11 teams are playing in this WS and did it in back-to-back years (KC - 1985; NYM - 1986).

No team has come back from a 3 - 0 game deficit.

Good luck to your Mets, RT. I mean Mr. Baseball. I hate to see sweeps unless it's my team of course.

OCtober always ends on Reformation Day. It was a great Open Comb month. I hope you all enjoyed it. For my Reformation Day shave, the Proraso Green Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #25 WD Synthetic brush. First pass with my Gillette Aristocrat (1947 Birth Year Razor) with a Personna Super blade followed by second pass with the Merkur 15c Open Comb razor gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Pinaud Lilac Vegetal after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    SOTD - World Series - Game 4

    Morning shave
    Hot Shower
Soap: Barrister & Mann Diamond Shave Soap
    Brush: Omega Pro 48 Boar
    Razor: Gillette Goodwill
    Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (3)
    TSD Witch Hazel
    Aftershave: Old Spice 1967

My third and final shave with this setup brought the same great results as the first two - and brought my OC October to a close. Very good to great shaves with Gillette New LC, Schick Type C1, Standard Safety Razor and Gillette Goodwill. If I could only keep one it would be the New LC - my new favorite razor since starting this journey in May.

    World Series Game 4

With the Mets win last night we’re assured of baseball through the weekend…and hopefully beyond!

    Weird coincidence of the Series:
The pattern of results between the first three games of this Series and the last World Series won by the Mets in 1986:

    ----------------1986---------------2015
    Game 1-----Lost by 1 run-----Lost by 1 run
    Game 2-----Lost by 6 runs---Lost by 6 runs
    Game 3-----Won by 6 runs---Won by 6 runs
    Game 4-----Won by 4 runs------Tonight ?

RT. You are the consummate fan. Because of your enthusiasm you may even have me pulling for the Mets, even though I don't have a dog in the hunt.

I did in fact find it a walgreens. I was looking in the AS section, but it was in the cologne section. I got the gift set, and for the first time in a very long time, I actually wore some edt today. Canoe is a great scent.

Finished celebrating OCtober with my first shave with my new 1937 Sheraton. This rhodium plated beauty was a joy to use and my first shave was a BBS.

Thank you all for participating in OCtober. I had a great time going through all the posts, enjoyed eyeballing some nice shavers and brushes, learned a little more about my own equipment. But my favorite and most memorable experiences were getting to know all of you a little more and enjoyed your company. Thanks for the memories.
