Well, today's the big day. I am off to the hospital for knee replacement surgery. Please wish me luck.

I've been really sick for the last 3 days, I have walking pneumonia. Add a horrible ear infection to the matter and bam! I've slept more in the last 36 hours then I've been awake. As much as I love my two grandchildren they seem to be the carriers of my sickness. Four days ago my grand daughter was here and I held her the entire time, she was sneezing and coughing on me, her parents do not have them on a schedule so who knows what time they go to bed, eat, etc.. I'm trying very hard not to butt in and allow them to raise the children the way they want to, but it's very hard when my baby is sick and wants me to hold her for 6 hours. I need to be mindful that I'm not the parent, my wife is constantly reminding me. It's hard. I hope I start to feel better soon. I haven't shaved in 3 days. Sara, I'll keep you in my prayers.

I just went grocery shopping and spent too much time in the baked goods dept. But, it is almost Halloween and all... the fresh-baked apple fritters called my name too loudly to resist.
Get better soon! Having had a very slight case of walking pneumonia years ago, I can easily guess how awful a real case is. I felt like there was an elephant on my chest the whole time.
