Now I just need to decide what I want for the second brush...but I got a week before I have to do that.... I'm thinking something completely different...but will have to wait and see if he can accommodate this rather..unusual..custom request I have in mind...
He probably can, working with a blank and a lathe. He may even be able to make his own blanks. I have a cousin in law and golfing buddy down here. I showed him the WW website. He does sculptures and explained Peter's process to me. He works with similar material. I couldn't get him to bite on doing a brush handle I had in mind.I just can't afford or justify a hundred dollar brush. Again I love your new WW. It would have been one of my choices.
Yeah, I'd say that's reasonable (or at least in the range I'm also willing to pay for one) I'm also pretty sure you'll like it, so I'm not holding my breath on a chance at a trade. Besides, I like the way the Persian Jar brush feels. It has the coveted 'gel tips.'
Notification from Kelly of Beaver Woodwright that my custom handle and the rest of my order will ship out tomorrow. Like I really need another shave bowl Not my brush handle but I requested one of these similar to this one.
Waiting for my Morley Clover 5/8 straight to come back from Glen who's giving it a honing. It's been almost a year so its over due. After my current 30 day focus in going to be doing a 30 day focus with this straight. Can't wait!
Was sent a sample of Thomas Tew when I made a purchase of a brush on another forum and really liked the citrus aroma with touch of sweetness. Super easy to lather, a little goes a long, slick and very good post shave feel. Bought Barnacle Bob around 10 days and again the soap qualities the same as Thomas Tew but this aroma is more of a light cologne type to me. Rose, Jasmine, violet, sandalwood maybe another note or two. Nice but not sure if this is a keeper yet as I have tried BB just once. So, in a nutshell, since the performance was top notch went ahead and purchased three more.
Bought a second looks-like-a-Gillette-four-piece razor for yet another $10. We'll see if this one comes apart or not when it gets here
I think it would be neat to do a two-toned brush handle with a dark top and clear lucite base, with the medallion sandwiched in between.
Unfortunately Peter doesn't do 'merging' of different resin stocks any more - it all comes out of one block - even the burnt whisky one (that does have a clear base). Neat idea though. I think I know what I want for my second brush but still going back and forth on it...
Razorock Bazooka (Fatboy) landed today. Very weighty and the handle is really nicely knurled amazing confident grip. I have posted some pics and will post up on it tomorrow after my first shave with it gents.
