There is a confusion about whether this razor is made in Germany, Japan, or China. I tried it and love this razor. It is a nice looking and heavy razor and is of good quality. It is more important that I like it and happy with it then being too concerned about where it is made.
found a pic: For 10 bucks including shipping >here<, you could probably do a lot worse. Hey! Is the opening mechanism under the head, like an old Knack? My main reason for liking 3 pcs better than TTOs is that I so frequently loosen the TTO while shaving. Hmm... I haven't been feeling RAD pangs lately and when they flare, they seem to draw me toward a Phoenix DOC. But... SO... How does it shave? Similar to a Krona or what? Spill... and don't spare the details! And welcome to the Den!
I've got a good idea. Send me the $10 and I will send you $1. At least you will have something worth something. Really, I bought a razor like that for my son. The price was very good, but the workmanship was terrible. You can do much better I believe.
The only way I know how to describe the Phoenix DOC, like sliding under the covers after you've been out in the cold just waiting to get home and go to bed. Or maybe like when the clock strikes 5 on a Friday. The Phoenix is so comfortable, it's efficient, and very mild, yet I get just as quality shave as if it was a more agressive razor. For the price, you can't go wrong.
