    Friday's
    ZCOLDWATER1.jpg

    Dove Men Face Wash
    Tabac Shaving Soap
    Jayaruh #27 Silver Tip
    Gillette Super Adjustable
    Astra Super Platinum
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Lemon WH
    Aqua Velva AS

The Tabac Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #27 Silver Tip brush. Two passes with my Gillette Super Adjustable razor on 8 and an Astra Super Platinum blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Aqua Velva after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Sixth shave of No Variation NoVember.

NoVariation, eh? I'd get tired going with just one shave style for a whole month, but I will try that with my Clubman stuff(actually, it would be just the A.S., but using other Eddie Pinaud items in the shower).

Actually, I normally rotate through 18 soaps and creams and I don't get to see my Tabac for over two weeks. I am enjoying using it every day. The Super Adjustable is new to me. I have been on a one week, one razor thing this year trying to get all of my razors some face time. I am just getting to the SA, so, I am looking forward to actually using it for a month. The brush is a new brush I just made the week before, so it is a good time to get to know it too. The No Variation November worked out well for me. I am enjoying my morning routine. I have a winning combination. The Astra SP is a winner, too. It does not disappoint.

Those razors, such as the ones you mention, do look great. I've had issues of sorts operating them in the past. That's why I've used the Gillette DisposeABLE's with-well, "no variation" (chuck yuk yuk). Next summer I'll do a no-variation with Mennen Skin-Bracer, in celebration of it's 85th birthday. Thank you, Billy Mennen :)
ahh, the barbershop pole one...I may well try those this summer as a backup to Skin-Bracer.

    Friday morning's plans:

    Stirling Pre-Shave Soap :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055:
    Large Horsehair Barbershop
    Super Speed/Astra day 5
    Matas SS :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055:
Intesa Glacial AS Balm :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055: :smiley freezing:
Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS :love055: :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:

This Matas soap from Denmark is awesome - the lather is a pleasure to work up, the scent is great, and it leaves the skin smooth, cleaned up well, and comfortable. The Intesa Glacial balm from Italy also has a nice, sporty scent with a comfortable feeling and a slight cooling effect. I'll soon need some more Aqua Velva - the bottle is getting low, and I need this stuff all the time in my aftershave rotation. What performance the Astra blade is giving me - it'll be my fifth shave and it's still working like a champ! ;) :D

A great weekend to everyone in advance! :)

Day five on the Feather SS. I haven't had a blood free day yet this month. And, I was running a bit late so not exactly a combination that gives a person much confidence. Decided to stick with it and allow myself two passes. No more, no less. It had to be CCS or better after two and I couldn't be twitching in a pool of blood. Kind of defeats the purpose of getting ready to go to work if you kill yourself in the process. After yesterday's slight miss on the lather I was worried I had somehow lost the focus on that as well. Yeah, a little stress to start the day.

As for the lather, I needn't have worried. BoSFat was right on the money. Exploding lather on the brush and face and slick and protective just like I need. That's why MWF is in the top spot for me. I'm not having any trouble living with one brush and soap this month at all. It's just that good. Picked up the Feather SS and here we go. Set the blade down as normal, added angle as I began the downstroke and set it right where I wanted it. Very easy first pass not only on the right cheek and neck, but the left was also nice. I never get quite as good a first pass on the left but today was close. No nicks, cuts, weepers, slices, or spurting arteries. Nice first pass. Reapplied the lather and knew this was it. I wasn't at CCS yet because of my neck and, well to tell the truth, my face wasn't there either. The first pass had been fairly timid which left a bit extra for the second. Went diagonal on the face and neck for the second pass and switched to my left hand out of the Japanese (I think I'll call it Yakuza grip now, thanks to the allegiance the cartel has made with @Bama Samurai ) and that went better than normal. Hit a couple of spots again on a different direction and checked the result. Dare I say? A barely DFS, but definitely the best shave I've gotten from this razor. And, with NO blood.

Hit it with alum and, while it has that burn I've come to expect from the Feather, it wasn't as bad as most. Seems like I'm getting it under control a bit. I'm not about to say it's mastered or any foolishness like that. I have 25 days to go and I'm a long way from a BBS, but baby steps! Off to a busy day in the rain. Now listening to the thunder in the Lou. Gotta love November thunderstorms.

I some what have to agree, I like the shaving soap I am using but I have far better shaving soaps, that also cost less than what I am using everyday in "No Variation November"
