Monday's Dove Men Face Wash Tabac Shaving Soap Jayaruh #27 Silver Tip Gillette Super Adjustable (8) Astra Super Platinum CWR, Asma Alum Block Thayers Lemon WH Aqua Velva AS The Tabac Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #27 Silver Tip brush. Two passes with my Gillette Super Adjustable razor on 8 and an Astra Super Platinum blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Aqua Velva after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed... Ninth shave of No Variation NoVember.

SOTD Monday, November 9 Razor: Star DE Blade: Gillette 7 O'clock Blue Brush: Whipped Dog Silvertip Soap: Stirling Margaritas in the Arctic AS: Barbasol Pacific Rush Three shaves with the Star DE and I am pleasantly amazed. I realize shave results are a combination of razor, blade and technique, so IMHO this must be a near perfect storm. I find the weight and balance of this razor to fit my technique just right. I can barely feel the blade touching my skin, yet the razor is as efficient as any I own. All three shaves have been near-BBS. Does anyone know how this razor compares to a Tech? The heads look very similar.

Man alive, my eyes are still tearing from this menthol bombardment from the Glacial Spearmint soap, the Glacial Wintergreen balm and the Arctique aftershave. (I love it!) What a delightful, frigid BBS shave this was!

I paid a little better attention this AM, so I was rewarded with a little bit slicker lather from the excellent Ginger's Garden soap. Days 2 and 3 with the Bic are almost always the smoothest, and today was no exception. The combination made for a comfortable, effortless DFS+ shave in three passes, without any hints at bloodshed or irritation. Add in the post-shave feel from the Metilsol, and I've no grounds for complaints at all.

Gold Bond Ultimate Aftershave: Folsom & Co. Muir Great shave. This Vintage Yardley lavender is nice and strong. Great creamy, cushion-y lather. The Plissoft is my favorite brush. Muir nice way to end the shave. It's better to give than to receive.
