I really like the handle! Great buy! Congrats!! Yes from the top picture it's a Silvertip, must of been a late night in the brush factory.
Picked up a nice Model C Valet Auto Strop Razor (Made in Canada) today at an antique store. It is in remarkably good condition. When were these razors made? I can't figure out how the blade mechanism works. There is one blade with the razor. Wondering if there are blades still available for this razor...or reasonable substitutes? Anyone out there that uses these that can give me some advice on how to use this razor?
I hauled this brush. I am reasonably sure it was never used. the boar bristles look very clean and new. I waxed the wooden handle and made a lather. now I'd bet money it was never used. so I commenced breaking it in. stunk to high heaven. if anyone has any info on the maker, please sound off. no maker info is the only fly in the ointment. great size great condition great price great handle shape who made it,I don't know.c that sucks. I also hauled a brush I bought for the metal handle. I bleached it out. it was definitely used. I may give it a whirl before I cut the knot off. the collar shows some stress around the opening. I plan to grind it back some. that will shorten the collar and make the hole wider. I'm wanting a bigger knot anyway so all's well. no name on it either. where are all our old brush experts?
I received my AMACK 24mm sunrise knot today. Here it is paired with the lord randal handle from vie-long. On deck for tonights shave.
Added a couple more items to my growing Schick collection. A pink Lady Eversharp (with box) and a Gold Krona. I've got two or three of the Lady Eversharps in varying colors but didn't have this one. I've also got a couple of chrome Krona's but a gold one had remained elusive (at least at the prices I like to pay) until now. Both are in great shape. The Eversharp will get parked next to the other Lady's and the Krona will get shaved with tomorrow morning.
