If you can get it open that's a real good start, then maybe you can finagle something to pull the old magazine out. Really there is nothing else inside besides the spring/ end cap so yeah more soaking etc. as long as you've got it open that's good.

I'm waiting on the beater, should be here by the weekend. And I was waiting to get another shave or 2 out of the blade that is in it but heck might as well try it now. It did work a few times when I first put it into service..

Yes I am actually searching the internet to see if I can find the schematic of the whole razor. If I can find that I would feel better about trying more aggressive measures. I can feel the pusher part of the plunger trying to catch what I think the blade is. I really need to see how it is assembled.

I will keep trying. I can load blades by hand so shaving with it will not be a problem. Would just like to have it fully functional.

Nope, no bueno, slide pulled back but won't move forward...... Trying some tapping and what not to loosen things up.

So, success! I'm thinking the oil on the Chick blades which I figured was a good thing when I loaded this (thinking about rust etc.) makes them stick together. I'm going to try and flush it with some gun blaster before I close it up all the way. At least tapping on my hand back and forth freed it up. Finicky little bastard. image.jpeg

I'm thinking oil is not something you want with one of these. I do have some nice dry lubricants that should be better. I need to get the innards oil free first. Hey at least it works once. As far as your razor goes somehow we need to get the inside parts loosened up.

Some kind of solvent that won't harm the plating.

I don't think it's going to come out until the magazine is empty.

I think you'll find that the guide bar straightens out quite easiliy. Same goes for the clean up. That guy will be looking shiny in no time.....

I'm going to put this away for now so my cat doesn't get cut messing around on the counter and will play with it tomorrow...

Ok I got the spring and the blade holder out. It turned out to be fairly easy. I took my B1 and unloaded it to see how everything works. There is a small detent on the spring on the bottom side that catches an other detent on the body of the razor. Seeing this I noticed I could slide something in between and release the detent. So I cut a thin piece of shim and doubled it over to make it a bit thicker. Slid the shim in and the spring released.
    Here are some pictures.

    This picture shows the shim

this picture shows the shim where I slid it in at. It might want to catch the back of spring but a little push and it went right over it

    boom it hoped right out.

the holder was empty. So I loaded a blade it cycled fine but it would not pull the blade holder out. Need to do some looking and see if I can see what is wrong.
I did notice my springs are not the same on the B1 and B2. I will make a new post of that in a bit. I will take some pictures. Hopefully someone can help me out.

P.S. I can take more pictures if what I posted in not quite clear enough.

Ok so I tried my other blade holder from my B1 in my B2 it worked fine. So I think I have a problem with my blade holder from my B2. No big deal as I can easily remove it with my shim. Any how here are the 2 different springs. I am curious as to how others springs look. Here they are. notice how the B2 spring has an added piece of spring material.
    any ideas?

    Thanks Tom

Thank you. My problem is that I can't get the razor to open. Yours appears to open, but the tray doesn't come out.

a bobby pin or small paper clip may work if you can find one. you are just trying to move the spring enough to unlatch itself.
