    Schick I-1 Injector
    Schick Injector II Twin #3
    Oscar11 Omega Boar
    Tabac Shave Soap
Alum, Witch Hazel ++Menthol, Unrefined Organic Shea Butter
    Tabac After Shave

Schick I-1 Injector with SI II Twin Blades made for a very close 3 Pass BBS shave today. Maintaining a flat angle with the I-1 is easy. It’s been described as the Corvette of Injectors. Great slick creamy lather made easily with an Omega Boar. Finished with a generous dousing of Tabac After Shave. I am really smooth and my face is singing the high notes.
    Have a great Tuesday!

I'm going to break mine out tomorrow. I'll compare notes after I finish. Like I said the few times I have used it the results were good.

I have a bad feeling mine is defective. Mine matches a picture I found on Badger and Blade that says the bevel was ground incorrectly and won't shave well.

@Billyfergie I have a feeling that is the problem I'm having Billy. Something doesn't seem right. Have you owned one of the defective ones?

I haven't owned a defective one Sir...There has been much written about defective PAL Adjustables....Its a bit of a Sticky Topic this one as it would appear that most defects in them have been down to user abuse over the years and or them being kicked around...It has been claimed that a small number of them were defective from the factory but I don't know anything about that...The one thing that I do know is that they don't seem to work for everybody and I reckon that's probably the main issue with them...These are very controversial injectors...Some folks love them like myself and some folks seem to hate them...;)

    No Variation NoVember
This No Variation month is perfect for me to learn skills with new-to-me equipment.

    Razor: Mongoose B3
Blades: Feather Artist Club Professional (1)
    Soap: Saponificio Varesino Manna
    Brush: Omega 31025 Scarlatti Boar
AS: Changes at will. Today: Proraso Green

    11-2-15.JPG

My first shave since I fractured a couple of my ribs on Sunday night.

    Three-pass shave. (WTG,XTG,ATG)
    Face-lather.

This shave was a struggle because my body still hurts, certain motion causes extreme pain and the pain meds make me groggy.

All of that adds up to: A great shave!
    Go figure.

Must be because of the extra focus and slow pace that it required. Twelve hours later I am still soooo smooth.
I’m still only 6 shaves into the month, but can see that with time, patience and practice - I should be able to develop the skill to make this an everyday razor. The shaves I've gotten have been so good and have come so quickly in the learning curve that I think I'd be remiss not to get this razor into my top rotation, if not at the top.

If it sounds like I'm hesitant, it's because I am. This razor is different than any razor I've used in my short wetshave experience. The weight, size and dimensions make a difference. To me anyway. I'm struggling with the grip, balance point, length, weight, etc., of something so different than I'm used to. Which is one reason that I am just amazed by the great shaves that have come so quickly in spite of all of that.

I’m confident that with time…familiarity will come. I still have two-thirds of the month left.
    Cheers!

That's an interesting write up Sir...My brother is shaving with a Pass Around Mongoose at the moment and I spoke to him yesterday and he was struggling with the weight of it...He said it was a nice shaver but he preferred his PAL Injetomatic by a longshot...It didn't go down too well with the Mongoose Folks...;)

Well I have had even less shaves with my two PALs (Adjustable and InjectoMatic), but the few shaves I've had were extremely good. To the point that I'll probably do a month focus on the two in the new year.

But their physical profile is not as radically different between them and other injectors or even DEs, as compared with the Mongoose.

I'm just not one to cut and run from a great shaver just because it's radically different. Time and familiarity can change all that - just like I had to do when I started this routine and escaped from cartridges and electric razors.

But it does raise a good point that the "shaving experience" does count for something.

There was a buyer and seller that Ripped into a thread on a Forum somewhere regarding claims about defective PAL Adjustable....He reckoned that he had over a 100 pass through his hands and he had never came across a factory made defective one.... These are only my thoughts here but I reckon that because a lot of folks have issues with them the defective thing comes into play here...There is a Pass Around PAL Adjustable Thread over on B & B at the moment and some folks are in Awe with it and others cant get a shave out it...Its the same razor they are all using as well...Some folks cant get it to work for them at all..It may take a moment to get used to it...Here it is Sir...;)

Hmm. I read through the thread you posted here. It certainly seems like there are varied opinions on this one. Here are some pics of the head of mine. Does everything look right? The blade gap is so small. Is that normal? I'll keep working at the shave in the meantime. IMGP0480.JPG IMGP0481.JPG IMGP0482.JPG

It looks fine & well from here Sir...Yeah the blade is gap smallest on the H Higher setting ...The comb is fully back to offer the most blade exposure...The middle setting is probably a good place to find the cutting angle...I never find the need to use it past the 3 quarter setting myself...It looks Fine & Dandy to me Sir...I am assuming that the comb is moving back & forth Ok when you are turning the knob as it looks on the H Higher setting in these pics...;)

Ok. The comb moves fine. Maybe it's just such a different angle that I need to give it some more practice. I'll keep at it. Thank you sir!

Its a very Subtle Injector this one Sir...Very subtle indeed.. Its not like any other Injector for that reason...The Penny will Drop with a little practice..:)

Sorry Sir..I forgot to mention that this is can be the Hardest injector to load without running the blade across the blade stops...I load mine whilst in on the Middle Setting and when I withdraw the key the comb just clicks into place..I find it difficult to load on the H Highest setting because the head is very tight and its so easy to run the blades across the stops...If its run across the stops it will not shave worth a damn.;)
It might be worth loading another blade just in case to rule it out cause its so easily done Sir..I hate loading this injector for that reason..:angry019:

***Caveat: I'm on pain meds right now for broken ribs so maybe I'm hallucinating but do you guys see what I see?

    The 1st photo is Aaron's @zec668
The 2nd photo is mine. Not the best focus sorry.

I see a metal strip in Aaron's that appears to be bent when compared to mine. Looking at the razor further...I think the blade rests on that strip when inserted into the razor and could affect the pressure?

All just speculation on my part as I've only used my Adjustable once.

That's correct the way Aaron's spring is as its the same as mine and any other one that I have seen ....Yours seems to be the oddity here Sir...I have never seen one as flat as the one on yours and I have checked a lot of these out...In fact there was a discussion regarding this on another forum a couple of months ago and all our springs were the same as Aarons...Here is the Thread...First page Sir...;)
