I Hate being the bearer of Bad News Sir.......If yours is functioning I wouldn't worry about it ..As long as the part to the Right hand side as you look at it is dong its job and holding the blade tight during its adjustment its fine...The spring for the adjustment mechanism itself is actually inside the handle Sir...This often confuses folks as they think otherwise...Quite a complex design these actually...

As you know, I've just had one shave with it so far and it was a beauty!
I was planning to do a 30-day focus on my two PALS (Adjustable and InjectoMatic) sometime in the new year. So I'll find out for sure then.

I had another great BBS result with my D Type today...The Dutch blades are just as sharp as Feather Pros but more forgiving...The D Type doesn't shave like any other Schick Injector...Its deceptively aggressive but as smooth as later milder Injectors...I have never used any current blades in the D Type...I always use various Schick NOS blades in it and I reckon I always will....These Dutch blades are the Dogs Danglies....

I'm going to be spending time with the PAL and getting dialed in with it . I going with a Chick blade these work really well for me. The shave today was super!

Where do you find Chick blades?

 

I order my "Chinese Schicks" through Walgreens online.

 

Oh, I get it now. Duh. Pretty cool nickname. It is too bad they don't carry them in their stores.

 

I bought mine from a seller on eBay. I believe it was $29 for 10 packs of 7 blades. I'm finding them really sharp and they work better for me than Personna. Let me look and see if the guy is still there.

 

Yes, it is too bad, though I think you get free shipping with 6 or more units. @Bama Samurai clued me into that deal.

 

Looking back it was 12 packs for 29.99. I'm going to check Amazon.

 

No luck there I should have brought more....

 

I wonder if just the end tip of yours was bent up for some reason. Maybe someone who thought it was broken and tried to fix it.

 

I found the shy girl!!!!!!


After almost giving up on this razor, I decided to give it another try this morning. I followed the advice of @Billyfergie and put the head of the razor almost flat against my face then ever so slightly brought the handle down. I used as little pressure as possible and LOOKED for hair being cut instead of LISTENING for it like in ever other razor I have owned. I believe that Personna aka Gem decided they would reinvent the injector in the way they thought best, which was to make the cutting geometry more like one of their Gem SE razors. I took my time and was much mindful of the correct angle than in other razors. It almost seemed that when I thought I heard my hair being cut, was when I knew I need to adjust my angle to get back to the "shy girl." Glad I was home alone at the time because I shouted a big "Yes!!" out loud when I finally got it right. If you have trouble with this razor, slow down and don't aim for the audible feedback, but just after that when start to not hear as much and the razor seems flat against your face. For finally getting things right with this razor I was rewarded with little irritation and a near BBS shave. Thanks for all your help Billy!
