Another great work morning shave. I went with a traditional 3 pass shave slowing down a little to do touch ups as I went. This ended in a near BBS which is about my normal on work mornings. @CyanideMetal and @Boojum1 I took your advise and bloomed the stick this morning. That worked very well. Thanks for the tip. Finished off with a splash of Fine L'Orange.

I've been experimenting with my technique on my neck, my neck like most is a trouble spot. What I've not been doing is going WTG (everyone hair grows different) on my neck. I only go ATG on my neck and this has completely stopped all irritation, now I've been trying this for a week and have had amazing results.
My advice is it's never too late to switch things up a bit midstream, it's not always the tool. It could be a simple change in direction that makes a world of difference.
    Happy shaving!

I've been experimenting a bit as well - not with the setup, of course. Still the following:

    - D.R. Harris Sandalwood
    - Semogue 620
    - Mühle R89
    - Gillette Silver Blue (#3)
    - SebaMed ASB

Today I thought ... well ... if Bill can do it, you can do it too. So it was just 1 pass X/ATG for me, followed by some touchups (so one and a half pass ;) ) And guess what - it worked! Almost BBS shave, with the exception of one small spot under my chin wich I apparently overlooked. I left out my upper lip completely though - maybe I'll actually let the beard grow there. Let's see what SWMBO has to say about that

Edit: What's interesting though - the usual 3-pass W/X/ATG seems to be less irritating for my skin than a 1 pass starting right ATG. Had a slight burning sensation on my skin about 30 minutes post shaving. Nothing serious though and it's long gone, but worth mentioning I guess.

Mikes Natural Soaps Lime & Coconut
Witch Hazel ++Menthol, Organic Whipped Shea Butter
    Myrsol Metilsol
    Royall Lime

Today I had an outstanding BBS 3-pass shave. The combination of two Mike’s Natural Soaps turned out to be a most excellent idea. The combination scent was unique and refreshing, Coconut with more than a hint of lime. Thanks to @ObiDon for the wonderful idea. Not much sting today from the Myrsol Metilsol. Finished with some spritzes of Royal Lime.
Hope everyone is having a great day.

Mark, the handle is stunning. I'm sure photos don't do the handle justice. I can only imagine what it looks like in person.

I hold it daily. Your Aristocrat Ti is also stunning. Toby does First Class work.

:happy097: It might be time for the Queen to amend and update the CT. This one is too good to let go by. :happy102:

I have not found anything as aggressive as the 2011 R41. The Barbasol floating head is similar in aggression to Joris, Ikon Tech, Futur set at 5 and 2013 R41.

    Ah, what are friends for!

Hmmmm...upon reflection, you seem to be making the same mistakes over and over.
Seems your "back in the day" friends are awfully similar to your "present, TSD" friends! :shocked003:

Did you ever use Absorbine Jr. for athlete's foot? Osage Rub smells like that. Very cooling, but I am on the fence for the scent. It does mellow out to a totally differnt scent after 30 minutes or so.

I like big brushes (and I cannot lie), so sometime ago, I had Rudy make me a 32mm D01 2 band Shavemac brush. When I'm not using it to shave, I use it to clean the tires on my car.

Definitely think these comments beg for @Queen of Blades to at least think about some amendments to the CT.

Maybe get some M-bomb from the TSD shop and turn any AS into a mentholated AS with control over just how strong you want it. I have clubman that I use regularly and then I have clubman that I have put into another 2oz container and added several drops of M-bomb so it has a nice mentholated effect too. I just shake it up before use and it seems to do really well. The M-bomb does have a very slight scent to me but not enough to change the general scent profile of an AS like clubman.

I also use Ice Blue Aqua Velva for a slight hit of menthol in something that smells good to me. I get a hint of mint like peppermint but also a base of musk. Can be found at most drug stores so worth finding and giving a sniff to as well.

    Razor – !974 Gillette SS
    Blade – GSB
    Brush – AOS Badger
Soap – Gada Cool Mint shave cream
Post - Cold water splash, Witch Hazel and Ice Blue Aqua Velva

Another interesting shave with this razor. Decided to do things a little different today. I went for a three pass shave instead of a two pass shave. I decided to do WTG everywhere, XTG everywhere and end with ATG everywhere. The irritation on my chin was definitely reduced. I guess it is not a fan of going straight to XTG with this razor. Unfortunately the very smooth DFS+ shave that occurred has turned into definite areas of roughness and stubble growth 8 hours later. It was a good shave, no irritation and quiet AS. It just did not last. Will keep experimenting.
