i kinda do the same thing, Proraso is excellent, but La Toja is Chris... I see my La Toja stick everyday and I'm reminded of you. Now you have me wondering should I use La Toja???? Yikes!

I hear you've been ribbing Vince, but I'm sure he's not falling for anything. My last two shaves have been in the Top 10. My first pass is always WTG, and my second pass is either XTG/ATG (yesterday morning) or ATG (tonight). Both shaves approached BBS with hardly no irritation. I'm getting more confident with this set up, to the point that I use short XTG and ATG strokes in my trouble spots around my mouth, chin, and under my nose. I finished up with the L'Orange (really love that aftershave), and I'm ready to tackle the world (yesterday morning) or the pillow (tonight). Stay smooth!
Going to shave right now. Triangle hole ball end tech GSB (day 2) Proraso White in a tub 20mm WD synthetic Clubman AS Nivia Sensitive Post Shave Balm I expect a 2 pass DFS+ or better like I always get with GSB after the first day. This blade seems to mellow out after the first shave and give me 3 more shaves before a loss in preformance. I could shave longer but blades don't cost much and my face is picky. I only tear it up on days that @NCoxSTL's alter ego Ivan whispers in my ear. The Flying Eagle is in my Queue for the new year. thinking of putting it in the Sterling but sanity will probably win out and lock it into the fatboy set lowish or the oldtype.
You just need to turn the music up while shaving. Then you can't hear that crazy maniac! Sanity would be to throw that blade as far away as possible....or perhaps bury it in a locked chest in the foundation of a building until it's discovered in a hundred years ala Jumanji!
NOVember - NO Variation November 12 Razor - Feather SS AC Pain Stick Blade - (4) Brush - BoS Omega 10066 Soap - Mitchell's Wool Fat Post - Cold Water, Alum, Aloe Well this is just getting plain boring. Two passes to a DFS with no blood or other incidents. What's the point in that, right? Seriously, two great shaves in a row with the beast. It's feeling less a beast and more a well made precision tool that does what it's supposed to if you know even half of what you're doing. I'd love to tell you all about the drama of using it, but there just wasn't any today. Now I'm nervous about tomorrow...after two days of no problems it could be a rocky one in the morning! So, since the shave was good here's a bit of fun from the day.....met the son of one of my old college frat bros from Baker U today. He had moved here to the Lou a few months ago and I happened to have his house on my sales list this month. I finally put the last name together with his dad's post on Facebook about the house he bought in the Shaw neighborhood here. So, what did I do to welcome him? Why posed as a law enforcement official of the federal type, of course, showing up on his door asking questions about his dad, where he was, had he received any packages etc., when would he see him, did he know anything about his business.....kept him and his lovely wife totally on the hook for a good six or seven minutes stuttering and trying to absorb that the feds were hunting his dad. When I let him off the hook and told him who I was the kid busted a gut. My guess was right...he's a chip off the old block and he was going to continue the charade to his dad when he visits from Kansas this week until letting him know who started it. Talk about long odds of meeting an old buddies son you've never met in such a random way. All in all, a good day after a good shave!
I shave in the quiet parts of the night so I never have music and I will attempt to try every blade I have and when I ordered the tryablade sampler it had 96 blades in it. How much worse then the Tiger 3h could it be? There are new voices, I've been told to shave with a pain stick while drinking warm Saki. Closest thing I have is a shavette but that's a story for a different thread.
How much worse? You'll be amazed. Yeah, ok, so both terrible, but I didn't even make two strokes with the Slumping Slug. I at least made a pass with the Kitty Cat blade. Try that pain stick with some nice ice cold vodka too. I highly recommend it.
Well I've already done part of my head shave with it. The easy part. Some of those angles could be killers! Literally!
My pain stick shave story here. It was fun for a minute but its not ever going to be a regular thing. I agreed to it after too many drinks and didn't feel like I could back down the next morning. I thought about putting a feather in it but the personna was closer.
I guess I'm lucky. I have a mustache and goatee so I can skip the tough spots. Those are the only areas where my beard is thick. The rest is pretty light or patchy. I've had irritation in my shaves but thankfully it doesn't happen very often. I think I've learned a lot over the last couple of months on these 30 day threads. I'm really enjoying participating in them.
It was another day in paradise! It was just kinda like I was in the warm sunshine, then it rained for a few minutes and my shirt got wet. But the sun came out for the rest of the day, so all is good.
That's what I mean! I know it gives me trouble so I check really well that there is no stubble before I stop (unless I think I'm about to cross the irritation line). But sometimes, it seems smooth until about 45 minutes after the shave when I can start to feel a hint of stubble there. When I get a solid BBS, it doesn't show up there for at least 2 or 3 hours. But to be fair, I can feel it now, but I can't see it in the mirror. My whiskers there aren't that visible, so it really doesn't matter that much. After all, we want them to grow so we can shave again soon don't we?
Officially the "Department of Fraternal Investigations"......old frat bro? Yeah, I was on my game. If the kid had really thought about it he would have had me.
