I pulled the blade magazine out using Toms trick. I fished a cutoff from a zip tie in and she came right apart. I also took the head off this is shot of the screw that holds it wasn't really tight and came out easily. You just need a screwdriver that fits perfectly. I have a gunsmith set so I had one to fit.
I really like the zip tie. Plastic so it will not damage anything. That works great doesn't it. Mine literally popped out.
The resto razor has the catch broken off the spring so I probably won't want to stay in during a blade change. Not sure how or if I can fix this. Anyone have a spare spring lying around?
When I tried to put the head back on the handle it was a very tight fit so I put a small bevel on the top so I could get it started without damaging any thing. The screw doesn't tension it it is a friction fit.
Im confident you can get it back in working order. Do you think that grey looking material on the head was a JB Weld type material or is a lead material to smooth the surface?
Polished my B and C type up today. I accidentally pulled the plating off the head of the B type so the thin spring piece that holds the blade is copper colored. Makes it look very steampunk with the brass everywhere else. The C type shines so much its hard to take a picture.
Pretty much finished cleaning up this B1. I got the guide bar straight and put a shine on it but it will need to be hand loaded since the magazine is missing. Turned out OK though.
And I have to find one. They are beautiful. I found this pic and it makes me all warm and fuzzy inside
