Another great shave with my new brush. Boar stench is gone and I feel the tips opening up.
It's amazing how much the XXX scent resembles DR Harris Arlington. Lovely.
Running on the fumes of Omar's great stuff, while I wait for my own blend to finish.
I'm not really missing my ATG pass. The various XTG's makes for a very close shave.

I treated myself to a lethal freeze just now from the Glacial Lemon Chill soap, which started the ball rolling. It went on frigid, rich, and slick with such a nice soothing feeling in addition to that freeze. The Diana Sport balm, together with the Arctique aftershave almost left me disoriented with tearing eyes! (I love it!) BBS again as always! :happy088: :happy088:

    Monday:

Prep: Hot shower, Nivea for Men Original Moisturizing Face Wash, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm
    Brush: Simpsons 56 Best Badger
Lather: Ginger's Garden Coffee Jasmine soap (with mango butter)
    Razor: RazoRock Bamboozled RAKE OC
    Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (2)
    Passes: WTG, XTG, XTG (3, 4, 5)
Post: Cold water rinse, Thayer's witch hazel & aloe vera pad, Myrsol Metilsol AS splash
    Cologne: Xeryus by Givenchy

This was such a comfortable shave. The lather was dialed in just right, the Bic was ultra-smooth while still being more than sharp enough to mow down the stubble without any issues, and the postshave care was just about perfect. My biggest complaint with this DFS+ shave is it isn't quite this good every single time.

My first few strokes were so smooth it seemed almost surreal until I realized that I had forgotten to put the blade in.

I don't use a DE often, but this little Gillette is really a nice shaver. Smooth, effective and very comfortable. And all the menthol products felt very nice indeed. All in all, a very fine DFS shave to start the day. Now go and enjoy your day folks.

Chinese Gillette Super Blue Blade (2)

After yesterday's harsh shave with the Thin Cap OT and the Super Blue Blade, I was very curious to see how today would go using the same blade in the Slim. As I should have expected, it went very smoothly for a one-pass CCS with no weepers and no irritation.

It's a shame that this blade is so hard to find in the West as I think I could actually like it. So far, the only place I've found that carries it is lightinthebox.com at $2.99 per pack of 5 (though with free shipping if I care to wait) which makes them more expensive than GSBs.

Meanwhile, the Slim continues its push to become my favorite razor. It's strange, but I have a Black Beauty and don't find it nearly as nice.
